The teachers desk is the center of the classroom. This placement gives authority to the teacher

and shows leadership. Students will be placed at the round tables that are organized to give each table

enough space. There will be five students at each of the six tables, being able to seat a total of thirty

students. The tables will be big enough so that no student will have their back to the teachers desk.

Each table will be assigned seating according to the teams the students pick the first week of class.

Students will play different competitions as their own team.

In the back of the classroom there will be rugs lined all across the wall and continuing to the

next wall to the right of the door. The rugs are for students to lay down on while we have historical

guided imagery. In historical guided imagery the students lay down on the rug face up with their eyes
closed. Then the teacher will describe a historical time period in terms of what that picture would look

like. The rugs can also be used when students are doing other activities during class such as reading,

writing and group work.

The far side of the room will have bookshelves and will be a mini library. There will be a

collection of books donated or found cheap. Students will be able to check books out, but there will be

the expectation that the student may not return it (hence the cheap or free books). This way students

can be encouraged to read on their own and shown that literature matters.
