This year we will be having our annual Halloween Festival on October 27th 2017 at 6:30 PM. There will be games, prizes,
face painting, door busters, a jumping house, and much more. Tickets will be sold in the office for $5 a family without a Advantages of Play.Pg 1
meal. To purchase with meal it will be $7 for families. The meals served will be spaghetti with bread and lemonade. Ask

Advantages of Play
Play promotes equality and builds around the strength of young children rather than on their weaknesses. Play can help
children with their social, emotional, intellectual, linguistic and physical skills. Play can create a classroom that enhances
cooperation, initiative, and a intellectual challenge. Children from other cultures will bring a sense of interest to their
friends and teach them their cultures and ideas.

Advantage of Outdoor Play

Allows children to enjoy spontaneous play. The children rather than the teacher can determine the play and activity. Chil-
dren learn through interacting with their peers. Children will enhance their imagination and creativity.

Types of Play

Spontaneous Play: Freedom from rules, attention to means rather then then ends. Reflects on childs own interest and
desire.

Teacher-Guided Play: Teacher influence a child's thinking or activity.

Teacher-directed Play: An organized, controlled and directed by an adult.
