1. What is the reason why RP prefers to settle its present problem with
CHINA through international arbitrational tribunal? What do you think is
the reason why CHINA is bent to address it bilaterally? (20 points)

ANSWER HERE: The International arbitrational tribunal require both of the parties
China and Philippines to have an agreement with regards to that issue but yet,
the Philippines is not willing to notify what is China's side, Philippine's dont even
negotiate with China before begin the process of arbitration. After the Philippine
has begun the arbitration China clear that it did not accept the arbitration passed

because of the Philippines fear that it will not win the case as it will talk to China
Philippines did not actually want bilateral talk to China.

Philippines in order to barter goods, products etc. because of the Chinese trade relationship
throughout the place of Mindoro during pre-colonial period began the acceptance on foreign
policy in the Philippines this was the start of good trade and commerce relationship between
the two country. political relations of Philippines and china was also strong in Sulu.

3) There were many Chinese immigrants before Spaniards came. Spanish treat Chinese
unpleasant they use Chinese as a broker and they use them to build infrastructure for them
Chinese traders also pay a high tax they were cruel to the Chinese. Spaniards also see Chinese as
a threat because many Chinese insist that they were chines they were called the mestizos and
mestizos. There is also a massacre happen many Chinese died. Then i think the Spain needs
Chinese because of trade relations with them Spaniards wanted to win the heart of Chinese
they propose direct trade that aims to reduce threat to Chinese and unfortunately can win the
Chinese friendship. Spaniards want an economic gain and this was the reason why they wanted
to have Chinese good relations.

4) When American wins in the Spanish war they Introduce Exclusion law which suspended
Chinese immigration to Philippines this law also done in order to lessen Chinese economic role
to Philippines. America also abolished the Gremio De Chinos and Cabicillas on 1935 they passed
the law which stated that because Chinese is an alien population they also banned under the
law this is very unfavorable to Chinese businessman and merchants.
