Q3) Analyse the two span prismatic continuous beam using slope deflection method if the fixed
support at A rotates by 0.003 rad in clock wise direction. Sketch the BM diagram and deflected
shape. Take EI = 8*104 kNm2. (15 marks)

Q4) Find the vertical and horizontal deformation of the node 1 in the truss shown below. Apart from
the nodal forces, the truss also experiences an overall decrease in temperature by 20oC. Take =
1.2*10-5 /oC, A = 100 mm2 and E = 2*105 MPa. (15 marks)
