Dear Substitute Teacher,

I would like to welcome you into our classroom. I appreciate you coming to my
classroom today. I know you will enjoy my students just as much as I do. I have left plans for the
day. In addition, there is other information that you will need. If you have any questions please

Time Event Notes


School begins 7:55 a.m. Students are greeted at the
door. If student is late they
must have a tardy note.
Recess 10:00-10:30 a.m. If it is too cold or raining
recess will be held in the
gym or in class.
Lunch 12:15-12:45 p.m. Walk students to cafeteria.
Teacher lunch is during this
time.
Fine Arts/P.E. 2:30-3:00 p.m. Students are divided
between P.E. and Fine Arts
Dismissal 3:15 p.m. Students receive bus passes,
and if they do not have one
they will be parent pick up.

Student Names

Classroom Students are to work quietly. Students may


stay in their desk or in other areas of the
room.
Pencil sharpener If students need to quietly get the supplies
they need.
Hall passes The passes are by the exit door.
Students who complete assignments Students must read their own book or a
book from the classroom library.
iPad use Only if needed for lesson
Restroom The passes are by the exit door.
Bus duty Only every other week.
Dismissal
Emergency Procedures
The evacuation procedures are located next to the main exit door. There are rules and kits to grab
on the way out. The kit includes the class list among other things. For example, a first aids kit is
included and students inhalers if needed.

Please list the names of students who you had trouble get through to. Have the students write
their own name. This will make it personal and will scare them. If the student is misbehaving
have them walk around the playground instead of playing.
