It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Lauren King. Lauren was a student
in my second semester course Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family, and my first semester
course Scholarly Inquiry in Evidence Based Practice, at The University of Arizona College of
Nursing. Lauren was an excellent student in both courses. She has a strong work ethic, and is
self-directed. She is professional, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. She
has a very positive attitude, and is an engaged, motivated learner. Additionally, I worked with
Lauren when she was completing her rotation for the Population Health and Community Nursing
course in the fourth semester of the program. She assisted me in teaching Childbirth Education
classes to pregnant teens. She participated by setting up for the classes, and teaching some of the
content. She was prepared and organized, and developed an excellent rapport with the teen
women and their partners/family members. In addition to being an excellent student, Lauren has
provided community service, as demonstrated by her volunteer work with March of Dimes,
Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence, and the Integrative Touch For Kids Event at
Banner University Medical Center. Lauren is a serious student committed to the nursing
profession. I recommend Lauren for your position and believe that she will be an asset to your
