In life, we have many pieces; pieces to a problem to a solution and pieces to even life
itself. However, if we talk about that one piece of life that just wouldnt fit, could it be that
the only way to fit the piece is to delete it?

Euthanasia is a word that may sound deep. It may sound heavy because the truth is, it
is. Simply put, Euthanasia may also be known as mercy killing. It is something decided
by the whole family to end the hardship of their loved one.

Euthanasia has long been talked about in the field of ethics as individuals argue if
killing a person out of mercy would be a wise decision. Some say it would be unethical
to put someones life on a doctors hand but some also say euthanasia is needed to
ease the suffering of their loved one. I say, yes to euthanasia if we take it from the point
of view of the sick, and of his/her family. If some people object to this idea, let us
remember that all necessary precautions would be taken to avoid reaching this
scenario. If criminals sentenced to death receive proper investigation and judgment how
much more if an innocent persons life is at stake.

As I was searching for cases of euthanasia, I managed to find a girl who died through
it. Her name is Jerika Bolen, a 14 year-old girl, who had an illness called spinal
muscular atrophy type 2. It is a rare, incurable disease that shes been carrying since
she was 8 months old. Moreover, life expectancy for people with this disease is usually
a few years so just imagine 14 years of it. In fact, Jerika has been in and out of
hospitals operating rooms for more than 30 times. In the end, Jerika chose to die to
avoid the pain she felt and avoid the pain that she caused. In the end, all we could think
about is should we really prolong the agony of that person?
