INTRODUCTION

KERALA ELECTRICAL AND ALLIED ENGINEERING COMPANY LTD (KEL)

has a vital share in manufacturing the “Distribution Transformers” in the market.
The electricity is an inevitable factor in the modern world. Kerala faces the huge
power crisis. The main cause for this, is the production cost, loss of transmission etc.
with the loss of transmission, the people face low voltage problems. The distribution
Transformer helps to improve the voltage capacity in electricity distribution. The
KEL produces these Distribution Transformers for various Electricity boards all
over India. KEL has 70% markets in Kerala alone. KEL facilitates the modern
technology for producing quality transformers with foreign collaboration.

The KEL Mamala has two production units;

1) Transformer Division
2) Structural Division

The transformer division has been manufacturing the distribution and

medium power transformers. KEL is the largest manufacturers of distribution
transformers. The capacity of distribution and medium power transformers were
up to 3000 KVA to 33KV class with an annual production capacity of 600000 KVA.
National Test House, various State Electricity Boards and Power Corporations in
India have approved the transformers.

Structural division the manufacturer of fabricates hydraulic control gates and

hoists. Design fabrication and commissioning of hydraulic gates, hoists and
controlling equipment for power and irrigation projects, pressure vessels and other
industrial structures are manufactured by structural division of KEL Mamala. The
main clients are Indian Railways, Dam projects etc. The concerned clients have
inspected these projects.
