WEB DEVELOPER (WBDV)
Can you imagine a world without the Web? Can you make it
through a day without accessing an online service like Google,
Facebook, or Wikipedia? Would you like to be a part of the
industry that invents and advances the tools that make the
online world possible?
The 23-week Web Developer program will provide you with the
skills required to get started in this exciting field. Whether you
want to create corporate websites, develop your own consulting
business, or create the next hot Web service, this program will
help you develop the technical skills to construct user-friendly
websites.

Web Design Theory/Responsive Design
Web Page Fundamentals (HTML5, CSS)
Web Client & Server Programming (JavaScript/PHP/J-Query)
Web Development Tools & Techniques
Version Control, such as GitHub
CMS Systems (WordPress)
Career & Consulting Essentials
Program Length
Formal classes and labs run for 15 weeks followed by a
mandatory 8 week work practicum. Classes are held
Monday to Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm. Program intakes
occur twice per year in September (Fall Term) and
January (Winter Term).
Ideal Applicant
The ideal candidate for the WBDV program will be technical in
nature. You are collaborative and work well in teams. You are
capable of learning independently and enjoy self-directed study.
Most importantly, you possess some previous knowledge of web
development or design.
Admission Requirements
At least 60% in English 30-1 or English 30-2 OR a minimum of
two years post-secondary education from a recognized
university, institute or college. An introductory programming
course such as Introduction to Programming in C (CMPP 205) is
required.
All applicants must meet SAITs English Proficiency

selection/english-proficiency. If required, English proficiency testing
is available through the English Language Foundations Program
(403-210-4045).
Because of the tight integration of the courses in the WBDV
program, credit for Prior Learning is not available.

Financial Matters
Domestic program fee is $7,575 (subject to change).
International program fee is $11,362 (subject to change).
Tuition includes all books and course materials, and access to
appropriate technology. Mandatory SAIT & SAITSA fees will be
assessed in addition to the tuition.
Student financing is available for those who meet certain
government criteria. Further information can be found at

Candidates are encouraged to consider all financing options. If
you are applying for financing, you should do so at least 8
weeks prior to the program start date.

Application Procedure
Admission to the WBDV program may be subject to limited
enrollment per intake to keep the learning environment
interactive and hands-on. Applicant qualifications are also
carefully assessed due to the intensive nature of the program.

Career and Program Investigation Form (this will be emailed
to you) detailing your background, career goals and how

4. Attend selection appointment.
5. Payment of a seat deposit is due after acceptance to
guarantee your seat in the program. This fee is non-refundable.
International students should consult SAITs International Centre
