Dear all,

There is an exam revision lecture online. Moreover, there is also a lecture on the format
of the exam. In addition I will now provide an outline of the exam format in text:

The exam consists of two parts. The first is a series of short questions. The second is a
number of longer questions. The longer questions are structured into three parts (a), (b)
and (c). In each case the (a) part covers "foundational material". If you were to get all
the short questions correct and all the (a) parts correct, then you would pass the
exam. The (b) parts of the longer question are somewhat more challenging than the (a)
parts and allow you to distinguish yourself as a 'B' grade student. The (c) parts are more
open ended and should stretch you to demonstrate 'A'-grade knowledge.

As with all exams, time management is critical. You should have a strategy before you go
into the exam. Do remember to bring in at least 3 working pens (redundancy) and a large
bottle of water.

Good luck to all. It has been my pleasure to meet you all this year.

All the topics we have covered on the course will be examined. I'll repeat that we did not
cover pointers this year. Instead we covered von Neumann architecture.

If I ask you to write code in the exam, I will accept a close approximation to C++. That
is, I'll forgive a missing semi-colon or other small syntactic errors.
