Maverick 210 Models:OBSOLETE

It is important to understand that there are many older

Maverick MICR 210 models are not currently support in
parts or technical support by Maverick.

This product is considered Obsolete by Maverick and we

Have a program to replace these Maverick 210 units in the
field.

The current Direct Replacement for the

Maverick MICR 210 is the Maverick 610.

HERE ARE SOME TIPS: CHECK UNDER RIBBON COVER FOR
CURRENT CALIBRATIONS

Step 1:

Clean Font sensor and check FONT Wheel to be tight to shaft of

FONT Motor

Clean Track and sensors

HOME FONT WHEEL- Step 2 in any calibration "di 82"

Note: some conditions of the sensors will cause a system lock up and
"font seek error" along with other sensor errors will occur not
allowing you into the diagnostics. If this happens you may have to put
a volt meter on the rear transistors for each sensor after cleaning and
monitor the voltage change while adjusting the pots on the PCB.
(+30Vdc then Changes with Document blocking sensor/ Front Led has
+5vdc on it)

To Get a Test Document:

Press "TEST" (hold) then The "CE" button - "di" on screen

Then

Press "TEST" (Hold) then the "00" keys- Display shows "Drop
Document"

Drop long Document and check Quality in MICR Gauger

*For Font Alignment: Use "di" 91 (Centers Font Character from left to
right for best quality)

*For Column Alignment: Use "di" 92 (Aligns the MICR characters

from the end of the document into Specification on the gauge)

EXAMPLE:

TO CHANGE THE FONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT:

From 1349 to 1360

Press 1360 followed by

Press "TEST" (hold) then The "CE" button - "di" on screen

Press 91

Press "TEST" (Hold) then the "00" keys- "Mushroom" on display

The FONT Wheel Alignment memory has now been changed from
1349 to 1360

Then

Press "TEST" (Hold) then the "00" keys- Display shows "Drop
Document"

Drop long Document and check Quality

Examine Results:adjust values as needed.

Note: Older MICR 1 units and those made by Brandt and Hedman have old
firmware ( Rev 1-2.5) and require lower settings on the font alignment around
50.Check the test document at the furthest column location for the firmware
number. Example

You have the cloning cable. I am attaching some good information. Print out the
quick reference.

Maverick does not supply cloning instructions so I got you some good
information, it is the same for 210 as 610.

Maverick 210 Support: Please understand Maverick 210 parts are not
available, only used parts can be found. The Maverick 210 is
considered Obsolete and requires replacement. If the hammer is
defective there is a procedure for upgrading the hammer assembly . If
a Main Board is found defective, we should replace the unit with a
loaner and suggest the customer order a new Maverick 610 Unit.

Any Maverick 210 program can be cloned into a newer Maverick 610
unit.

Maverick CABLE ASSEMBLY Download :Used to transfer or clone

program information from a Maverick 2 to 2 or a Maverick 210 to 610.Part

Maverick Kermit Serial Cable: The Maverick cable 039-90065-1 combined with a
DB-9 female to female "gender-bender" will work for downloading.

ACE program(PC ACE PROGRAM)-Used to save and load files in
"DOS"

Load PC-Ace onto a laptop which can run dos (Win95,98XP ok) You
must have the cable sent to you hooked up to the parallel port when
running the program. Use the attached Maverick M210 ACE to
Maverick Procedure to get started. The programs can be uploaded or
downloaded from using the ACE program and are saved as ".MCR"
Files. This ACE program can be used for Maverick 1, 2 and 3 and 610

Any Maverick 210 program can be cloned into a newer Maverick 610
unit. There is a download port on the Maverick 210 at the right rear
under the small cover. There is a download port access through the
top assembly transport on the maverick 610. You need the cloning
cable p/n:074-90037-1

Note: If replacing a Defective Maverick 210 with sensor issues and

trying to transfer program to a Maverick 610

Keep hitting "C" then try to insert "transfer Invoke" commands as fast
as possible before fault is displayed

1)Connect Cloning cable from Maverick 210 to 610

2) Turn on Maverick 610 (destination machine) screen should say "ready" Then,
3)Turn on Maverick 210 (source machine)and set-up screen by following step
three commands
4)Label and test unit use Maverick 210 commands on 610
