The following worksheet is designed for the student teacher to use the Program of
Studies (POS) developed by Fairfax County Public Schools to create lesson plans. Each
Standard should be addressed in each lesson. Shoot for at least 2 relevant
Benchmarks per Standard. An SBI is an acronym for Standards, Benchmarks, and
Indicators.
1st) Write the SBI. Type the standard as stated (largely) in the POS. 2 nd) In your own
words explain how you addressed each Standard specifically in creating your lesson.
Refer to Indicators in the POS for ways to demonstrate student understanding of
Benchmarks. Complete this worksheet and include it with your completed lesson
plan packet documents (At a Glance, FCPS Lesson Plan Form,
PowerPoint/Keynote/Prezi, Exemplar, and Script).
