Key member of the team finalizing the Surat Smart City PAN Cities IT Projects. Responsibilities
include finalization of requirements with PMC, DPR and RFP finalization, coordinate
implementation of various projects, cross departmental collaboration & coordination, ensure

2. Smart City Center (SMAC Center)(June 2016)
SMART City Center (SMAC Center) is envisaged as an administrative control center of the city
for effective and efficient delivery of all civic services. This center collects functioning
information of all the departments on real time basis, as far as possible. Automated sensors
and systems will be used to send various data sets to the SMAC Center, which are analyzed to
derive some conclusions. SMAC Center plays the role in providing real time information to the
public about civic facility utilization in the city. It helps all the departments in maintaining civic
service delivery standards on day-to-day basis. It gives support to the departmental heads for
taking quick decisions in restoring services while handling unforeseen disturbing situations. In
case of emergency situation, SMAC Center plays important role of coordinating all
departments with decision support system for effectively managing rescue and relief
operations. Responsibilities include procurement of 4*4 70 inch DLP Cube based Video Wall
System. Integration of Surat Police CCTV projects 600+ cameras for civic services monitoring.
Integration of IBM IOC for Smart City Center for various applications. Integration of SMC Sub
Systems with SMC Dashboard for monitoring of Key Performance Indicators. Integration of
various SCADA Systems of various SMC Facilities with Smart City Center.
3. Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) (March 2016)
IBM Intelligent Operations Center helps government leaders manage complex city
environments, incidents and emergencies with a city solution that delivers operational insights.
It offers integrated data visualization, near real-time collaboration and deep analytics to help
city agencies enhance the ongoing efficiency of city operations, plan for growth and
coordinate and manage response efforts. IBM Intelligent Operations Center provides
integrated maps, online dashboards, customizable reports, multiple analytic algorithms,
interactive standard operating procedures and other tools for improved city operations and
incident or emergency response. Responsibilities include guiding the IBM team and SMC team
for necessary integration between IBM IOC and SMC Sub Systems with necessary
departmental information and APIs.
4. Surat Open Data Portal (https://surat.data.gov.in) (October 2016)
Keeping the concept of Connected Community and open government in mind, SMC has taken
an initiative to make available various datasets pertaining to various domains available on
Open Data Platform. These datasets can be useful to developer community & Academia. The
portal was launched by the Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Rupani. Responsibilities include
finalization of various departmental datasets and preparation of data sets and APIs.
5. SMC Mobile App (August 2013) & (February 2014)
Developed a Mobile Application for citizens using which citizens can make payment for
various taxes, issue Birth/Death Certificates, register complaints, check periodic rainfall details
etc. The first version of Mobile Application was launched by the-then Minister of Urban
Development, Govt of Gujarat and current Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt. Anandiben Patel. The
second version including the payment facility and other feature was launched by the-then
Chief Minister of Gujarat and present Prime Minister of India Sh. Narendra Modi. SMC is the
first municipal corporation in India to launch such mobile application for citizens.
6. SAFAL Mobile App (February 2015)
SAFAL Developed the SAFAL Mobile App which was launched by Chief Minister of Gujarat
Smt. Anandiben Patel. Surat Action For Augmenting Livelihood is a mobile app initiated by
Surat Municipal Corporation. SAFAL acts as a bridge between service seeker and service
provider. It provides an employment opportunity to people possessing various skills especially
from unorganized sector. The app was launched by then Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt.
Anandiben Patel.
7. Mobile App Development for Internal Use
Surat Municipal Corporation has been using mobile applications for various internal purposes.
We have developed Tablet based application for Vector Born Disease Control Dept for field
workers activities to identify potential vector born disease across the city. Tablet based
application is also developed for EMI Collection from EWS beneficiaries from the field.
Beneficiaries are issued receipt on the field using Bluetooth printer. Apps are also developed
for Water Quality checking, Street Light monitoring, Night Round monitoring etc.
Responsibilities include finalization of functional requirements of applications and guiding the
Mobile developers for development of application including finalization of requirements.
8. Server Virtualization: Implemented VMWare based virtualization for servers hosted at SMC
Data Center
9. Backend Migration: Involve in Planning and Implementation of migration of SMCs complete
backend infrastructure from SQL 2003 to SQL 2012 along with merge replication
configuration.
10. Virtual Civic Center (Online Payment Facility): Core team member for the development of
Virtual Civic Center (Online Payment Facility) which allows citizen to make payment of their
Property Tax, Profession Tax, Water Meter Charges, Apply & renewal of Shops &
Establishment, issuance of Birth and Death Certificates, eLibrary facility, booking of
Auditoriums and Community Halls of SMC, Application for Society Civic Facilities, Application
for Individual Water & Drainage Connections, Booking of Stalls for Book Fair etc.
