Our research topic is about behavioral tardy students
This topic conforms to the CTE research agenda of strategies and methodologies in teaching and learning of
students tardiness and learning performance.
One issue/concern/controversy related to the topic that needs a solution is management and elimination of
Students Tardy Behavior by Powell. School tardiness is still a growing problem and has been on a steady
upward trend since 2000 (Light, 2006). It has been reported that the percentage of students who shown
tardiness during classes rose up (Light, 2006). Tardiness is the breach of the rules of the attendance, financial
and other school resources (Tyrea et. Al., 2011).
This issue/concern/controversy is important since tardiness in school is still an increasing problem to schools
(Light, 2006). Many issues regarding tardiness have stemmed from the breakdown in the social fabric of the
urban community; children left alone while parents work, the lack of extended families and overarching
economic issues facing many families (Pearlstein, 2011). This research endeavored to explore the problems
that many of our students face related to tardiness and strategize solutions to help overcome them (Powell,
2013)

instruction at each level of education when teachers have to stop and start class to admit tardy students into
