KINGDOM OF HIS DEAR SON Colossians 1:13

INTRODUCTION: The conversion of a sinner is the translation of a soul into the kingdom of Christ out
of the kingdom of the devil. The power of Satan, sin and the world is shaken off and the power of
Christ is subjected to. A believer has been translated from darkness to light, from slavery to
freedom, from guilt to forgiveness and from the power of Satan to the power of God. We have been
rescued from a rebel kingdom to serve the rightful king. Thus a believer must not fear the unseen
forces of darkness.

A. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness

God created man to have dominion over all things that was created, even satan and all
power and principalities (Gen. 1:26, Ps. 8:6), but man lost it over to satan when he hearkens
to him in the garden. Thus, man fall short of the glory of God. But God in his infinite mercy
plans an escaped route for man to regain back the dominion that was lost to satan and his
cohort in the garden. God himself did the deliverance for us, it is not of our own power but
of His supremacy as the Almighty. Therefore no man has nothing to glory about because we
are helpless before the intervention of God. It is only in God strength that we can glory.

On the cross Christ disarmed the rebellion in the world- whether that be satan and his
demons, false idols of pagan religions, evil world governments. He fought and stripped a
defeated enemy of armour on the battlefield. Evil no longer has any power over believers
because Christ spoiled and has disarmed all principalities and powers. Every forces of
darkness has lost his grip over us.
Col 2:15 [And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly,
triumphing over them in it.

He has rescued us from the state of heathenish darkness and wickedness. He hath saved us
from the:
i. Dominion of sin. (Rom. 8:2, 6:14)
ii. Dominion of death. (Rom. 8:2, 1 Jn. 3:14)
iii. Dominion of the world. (1 Jn. 5:4,Jn. 17:33)
iv. Dominion of Satan, who is the prince of darkness. (Col. 1:13, Eph. 6:12)
v. Dominion and damnation of hell, which is utter darkness. (Matt. 25:30, 1 Pet. 2:9)

B. and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:
When God delivered us from the power of darkness, he didnt leave us alone to live our life
aimlessly without taking proper care of us. He rescued us from the domain of darkness and
carry us in his arm to the kingdom of His lovely Son. (Luke 15:1-6) Hence we become his very
own.
The kingdom of Gods dear son is a:
i. Kingdom of light.
ii. Kingdom of Kings and Queens.
iii. Kingdom of power
iv. Unmoveable kingdom
v. Triumphant kingdom
vi. Kingdom of exploits
vii. Kingdom of glory
viii. Kingdom of wealth and prosperity.
ix. Kingdom of righteousness/holiness
x. Joyous kingdom
xi. Flourishing kingdom
xii. Overcomer/victorious kingdom
xiii. Sickness-free kingdom
xiv. Death-free kingdom
xv. Kingdom of life
xvi. Everlasting kingdom.
