We would like to thank our parents and family members. Without their endless prayers,
support, encouragement and guidance, we would not be able to reach where we are now. And
surely this recognition is not enough to compensate for what they did for us.
We wish to express the deep gratitude and admiration to our course instructor Mr. Talha
Saleem who has the attitude and substance of a genius. He continuously and convincingly
conveyed a spirit of adventure regarding the project, and excitement with regard to teaching.
Without his guidance and support, persistence of this project would not have been possible.
We are also grateful to Mr. Zubair Latif of Ismail Industries and Mr. Ahsan Ali Khan of Indus
Hospital for giving us their valuable time from their busy schedule for motivating and
arranging our project in time.
We also wish to express our gratitude to all staff of Ismail Industries limited and laboratory
workers of Indus Hospital for their support and interest in our project.

Executive Summary
The report is based on the project of blood donation drive organized at head office of Ismail
Industries. Representatives from Indus Hospital were invited to arrange a blood donation camp.
Blood collected through drive is then distributed and used among patients that are suffering
from cancer and are treated at Indus Hospital.
Blood donation is beneficial for both the donor and for whom the donation has given. Our body
destroyed blood cells after two months and new blood is formed. Why not to donate blood
instead of wasting it? By donating blood, a donor reduced chances of stroke and risk of cancer.
It also enhances the formation of new blood cells which results in a healthy body.
Promotions of drive were conducted by placing banners and standees in and outside head office
of Ismail Industries. Messages were also circulated through social networking sites.
During blood donation, 77 donors were registered out of which 46 were eligible for blood
donation. Free tests of collected samples were conducted at Indus laboratory and results were
shared with the donors.
After blood donation drive, Survey forms were distributed among staff for feedback of the
drive.

1 Introduction
Corporate social responsibility, often abbreviated as "CSR", is an initiative of a corporation to
evaluate and take responsibility for the effects of the company on environmental and social
welfare. The term generally applies to efforts that go beyond what regulators or environmental
protection groups may require.
CSR is important for companies, nonprofits, and employees alike. These efforts can range from
donating money to nonprofits to implementing environmentally-friendly policies in the
workplace. Corporations can improve their public image by supporting nonprofits through
monetary donations, volunteerism, in-kind donations of products and services, and strong
partnerships.
Blood donation drive in head office of Ismail Industries Limited collaboration with Indus
Hospital is a part of CSR activity. By doing this activity in organization, employees were
encouraged to donate blood for cancer patients serving by hospital free of cost. It also made
people realize about the struggle people are doing to win the battle of their lives.
The motto of the blood donation campaign "Proud of being someone's lifeline" illustrates in a
remarkable way the image of our purpose for life.

4.2.3 Enhances the Production of New Blood Cells
When blood is withdrawn, the donor's body immediately begins to replenish the lost blood by
marrow within 48-72 hours of donation. Donating blood helps to stimulate the production of
new blood cells. This process of replenishment can help your body stay healthy and work more
efficiently.
Outsiders were also invited to join the cause through WhatsApp group and Facebook profiles.

5 Conclusion
If you save a life, you save a whole mankind, this is what our belief is. People save lives in
many ways; the less common in our society is blood donation. In Indus Hospital, one donation
means saving lives of three people.
The life of blood in our body is 120 days, so instead of wasting blood, why not to donate it to
needy people. Blood donation does not have any diverse effect on our health.
Arrangement of blood donation drive in office premises is to facilitate those people who are
ready to donate blood but are busy in their tough schedule.
A positive response from office staff encouraged us to perform our social duty and to arrange
similar drives in our offices and other social gatherings in future.
