Motivation Through the use of Clear Questions

Problem:
Often students are reluctant to answer questions because they cannot figure out what the
questioner is asking.
Solution:
Ask better questions.

Clear questions are:

1. Brief
2. Exact
3. Asked one question at a time
4. Asked in a level appropriate vocabulary

Practice: Rewrite the following questions:

Question 1 (Brevity):
In the event of trouble, tell me, if you can, what number you dial for emergenciesWilliam?

In case of emergency, what number do you call?

Question 2 (Exactness):
What about capital lettersMary?

How do you start every sentence? or We start every sentence with what type of letter?

Question 3 (One question):

Tell the class, when, where and how we are to be polite with people and why its so very

Why is it important to be polite?

Question 4 (Understandable):
Can you tabulate the correct solution of five and five and graphically record the correct numberJack?
