Lesson idea implementation:

To start the lesson I would read a book about the seasons of the year and talk to the students about
weather. Then I would group the students into groups of 4. In each group, a student would get one season of
the year. Then I would have each student write down for things about their season, the temperature, a
special event that happened during that time of year, something you think about when you hear the seasons
name, and a picture. After I would take them to a computer lab. Each group would get one computer. They
would open up the application, Inspiration and I would give them a quick overview on how to use it. Then I
would have them star by typing in the first bubble, Seasons of the Year. Next I would have all of the students
who wrote down their four things on Summer put in their information, and Id walk around and help them
figure out how to do things like start a new bubble and find a picture. Then I would have the other seasons go
one at a time until they completed all four seasons. Finally I would have everyone save their creations and
post then to the class blog, this would extend the learning, with a fun team name, without using real names.
To complete the lesson I would have them return to the classroom to present their projects to the class.
I would provide feedback at that time. If there is any negative feedback Id pull the student aside later in the
day to discuss what he or she may have missed or messed up on so they are knowledgeable. The next day I
would assess the students with a short quiz on seasons of the year and weather information that they
learned.
