Letter J Lesson Reflection:

Through taught letter J lesson, I was harassment because of two boys made me
challenged. One named Ahmed he had physical impair which had issues with his fine and
motor skills, he cant hold the materials he cant hold the pencil so, I was wondering who
I teach Ahmed which the appropriate method worked with him because he doesn't
respond with materials, I think he needs a lot of supports. The other child named Zafer he
is selfish he wants to answer all questions, he doesn't give an opportunity for others to
participate, when I didnt choose him to answer he cried and said Why you dont let me
answer?? I also know!!!! Even while I told him you are excellent boy I know that you
know the answer he didnt respond! I dont know who I can deal with Zafer when I ask
my MST for her opinion she told me to ignore him!!!! But disagree with her so, in next
lesson I will use other methods such as negative reinforcement or discuss with Zaffer.

But I think I was good with prepared the lesson and safe environment by providing
all materials and equipment for activities. For example, in making letter J by using
macaroni I used safe materials for children by avoiding any sharp tools such as scissors.
According to Froebel method, she believed The classroom should be a prepared
environment (Spielgaben, 2013). I believe that I was developed children language by
giving them opportunity to build new vocabulary through talk with group members. For
example, in identifying pictures start with J sound activity I saw Raizan said for Salem
this is jellyfish, not jet so, its a great example, of developing children language
through cooperative learning. Link to Vygotsky he considered that language develops
from social interactions, for communication purposes (Linda, 2005, p. 40, 41)
