Describe how you would use the Online Project/Collaboration Site/Publishing Opportunity in
your classroom: This assignment will give the class an opportunity to collaborate with students
outside of the classroom and publish their own work. The students will read two short versions
of the same story (Cinderella for example) and then write about how the two versions differ and
how they are the same. The students will also review work from students outside of the
classroom and write down something they have learned by reading someone elses published
work.
What technologies would be required to implement this proposed learning activity in a
classroom? Laptop, iPad, or computer
Describe how the following features are addressed in this learning experience (note: all of them
may not be addressed in the project, but most should be if you are reaching a high LoTi Level.):
a. Collaboration with peers, near-peers, mentors outside their classroom and often
beyond their school: The students will be sharing, reading, and collaborating with
students worldwide by publishing their work to the website.
b. Student-centered learning and knowledge creation (collecting original data and or
producing original products as a result of engaging in the project): The students
will be reading two versions of a story and then creating a piece of work based on
their thoughts on how the two versions differ.
c. Higher-order thinking: The students will be creating their own work, but also
reading others work outside of the classroom.
d. Students publishing their original work to others who will use/care about their
product: The students are creating original work and sharing it with other
students, and also reading others work.

What Level of Technology Implementation best describes this learning activity and Why? This
activity reaches a LoTi level 4 due to the students creating and publishing their own work
outside of the classroom.
How could you implement this proposed learning experience and still comply with your districts
Internet Safety and Student Privacy policies? The students will follow safety rules such as never
publishing their full name, school district, or location. Along with these safety concerns, students
will never post pictures of themselves or others. The students will also only collaborate on this
1
website when using the computer/laptop/iPad.
