1. The Bajaj XCD DTS-Si, launched nationally on

September 09, 2007, met its first month's target with sales
of 18,131 units. About 55% of these customers were from
competition, whereas about 10% were first time buyers.

2. With advance bookings virtually covering the October

2007 production target of 50,000 units, Bajaj is now
expecting capacity for the XCD DTS-Si to 75,000 units /
month. This should eventually translate into a 25% market
share of the value segment for Bajaj, enabling its overall
motorcycles market share to inch closer to 40%.

3. Thus with XCD DTS-Si it appears that Bajaj finally has

for itself a firm foothold in this lucrative segment. It is
therefore hopeful that the second half of the current fiscal
will be witness to not just a positive sales growth for its
motorcycle portfolio, but also to a significant
improvement in its operating margins.

4. Furthermore Bajaj expects the XCD DTS-Si to catalyze

the increasing shift away from
100 cc motorcycles, and believes that such motorcycles
could come to represent less than 50% of the market as
early as December 2007. This bodes well for Bajaj, which
continues to be the leader in the more profitable 125—250
cc segment.

5. Commercial vehicle sales pressures continue to reflect

the state of the market, while exports continue to exhibit
strong momentum.

1. Significant de-growth of 100 cc motorcycles, owing primarily to

product fatigue, continued to weigh down the entire industry.
2. The Company has commenced production of its new 125 cc
DTS-Si motorcycle at Waluj (Aurangabad) and targets sales of
20,000 units in September 2007 subsequent to the national launch
on the 9th.

3. With production and sales of this motorcycle expected to reach

50,000 units in November 2007 - 2 months ahead of schedule - the
Company expects its motorcycle volumes from there onwards to be
ahead of the corresponding period last year.

1. The motorcycle industry continued to degrow owing primarily

to product fatigue as consumer disinterest in uninspiring 100 cc
motorcycles continued to translate into postponement of purchase.

2. However, Bajaj motorcycle market share at 36.2% was one of

the highest ever thanks to its timely introduction of bigger
motorcycles including the Bajaj Discover 135 DTS-i, the Bajaj
Pulsar 200 DTS-i, and the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi, all of which
have been extremely well received; in fact at this time demand is
moderately greater than supply.

3. In order to similarly satisfy the 100 cc motorcycle intendets,

Bajaj will launch in September 2007 its all new non-100cc
motorcycle with its path breaking DTS-Si technology.

4. This engine will be unveiled to select Financial Analyst and

Media persons on August 09, 2007 at Bajaj Auto, Punt.

5. 3-wheelers continued to be under pressure due to the overall

economic conditions, while exports continued to grow as planned.

 Still has no established brand to match Hero Honda's Splendor in commuter segment.

 Not a global player in spite of huge volumes.

 Not a globally recognizable brand (unlike the JV partner Kawasaki)

Threats:

 The competition catches-up any new innovation in no time.

 Margins getting squeezed from both the directions (Price as well as Cost)

 TATA Ace is a serious competition for the three-wheeler cargo segment.

New Delhi: The white and blue reverse hexagonal symbol with Bajaj Auto in small
lettering, which stood in good stead for Bajaj Auto for many decades, finally paved way
for a refreshing new look symbol with the Bajaj logotype in capital letters. The new
identity arrives at a time when Bajaj Auto has successfully metamorphosed into a major
motorcycle manufacturer with proven credentials in award winning Pulsar twins and also
proved its technological capability with the introduction the revolutionary Digital Twin
Spark Ignition (DTSi) technology.

The new visual identity of Bajaj Auto emanates from the confirmation of core values,
which Bajaj has identified as its brand values. The Brand essence for the new Bajaj has
been defined as "Excitement". Excitement engineering will deliver and inspire confidence
in to various stakeholders like Bajaj has traditionally done. Bajaj promises to live its
essence thru a set of five Brand Values of Learning, Innovation, Perfection, Speed and
Transparency.

The change in Identity is a part of the ongoing changes happening at Bajaj. At a time
when Bajaj has state of the art manufacturing infrastructure, has an enviable distribution
and service network, has created a benchmark R&D facility and at a time when the
customer has changed in terms of its exposure to quality and style, the change in identity
will help invite a paradigm shift in consumer perception of the company.
The traditional hexagonal symbol has been replaced by an open abstract form of stylized
B, the "flying B" as it has been named represents style and technology. It also has a
strong association with the heritage of Bajaj since the external form has a hint of
hexagon. "Flying B" form denotes speed and open form denotes the transparency.

The new logotype is all capital BAJAJ, representing precision engineering and
perfection. The logo is all confident bold stylistic lettering, which is very global in its
outlook.

Bajaj has adopted a new brandline of "Inspiring Confidence". In whatever the

company does it seeks to inspire confidence in its audience. Bajaj has traditionally
enjoyed tremendous consumer support and plans to consolidate and move ahead on
this. The Brandline appears below the logotype in a script font.
This font is to represent learning values at Bajaj and that Bajaj as a brand moves closer to
customer.

The new identity has a fresh new blue colour. This blue represents the stability and
strength of Bajaj. Blue also represents high technology and precision engineering. The
new identity presents a futuristic face of the new global Bajaj.

The design company Elephant Design has been working with Bajaj on creating and
implementing the new Bajaj identity.

Rajiv Bajaj, joint managing director, BAL says, "Bajaj is on the cusp of a revolution
brewing on various fronts, be it, exports, design, R&D, new models and marketing. The
company thus needed a new identity that would present the new philosophy. The
sweeping changes happening at Bajaj Auto required a more dynamic, vibrant and
exciting identity, which would also showcase inspiration and confidence through
excitement engineering. The change in identity is expected to present an easier interface
for the world to understand the new Bajaj with the same trustworthy values."

Vision:
Bajaj in the community

Bajaj Auto is committed to nation-building and contributing to the uplift

and development of the weaker sections of society. This is a legacy of our
founders, Jamnalal and Kamalnayan Bajaj. Because of their close links with
Mahatma Gandhi and the freedom struggle, they sincerely believed that as
businessmen they were trustees of the community and the profits they
earned must be ploughed back for the development of the community.
