My Own Motivation

Poetry is the key to show dominant control of your language, this form of art is
something I hold close to myself because I read, write poetry, and listen to hip hop. As a
child it always fascinated me the way you can maneuver words and create art at its
finest. Growing up rap music helped me study and concentrate it put my mind in a
studious mode. Poetry motivated me to get past obstacles at school, I felt like it was the
light that helped the seed of knowledge grow. I would always show my ultimate
dedication in my studies when it was necessary. Poetry gives me the confidence to be
my true self and it helps me concentrate on what is important in the moment. At school
this was reflected by me demonstrating control when it came to finishing assignments or
even making connections with people I had just met but made them feel comfortable
around me. Poetry helped develop the social skills I apply to my everyday life.
Poetry shapes the way your life is whether you realize it or not. . Music has a

unique way of affecting the way we behave. We sometimes dont even realize it but it

puts us in different moods. It has the power to change the way you feel about certain

subjects or aspects in life. For me it gives me the drive to overcome any struggle and

these struggles have appeared numerous times in my educational journey. I have had a

hard time recently being able to separate my personal life and my school life. Music

helps me destress and focus on my school work. It is a very helpful tool that I have been

able to use for my advantage.

I have a diverse music taste which has helped me develop different ideals, goals

I have in life but, most importantly friendships play a huge role in this. Music and poetry

have shaped the way my life is and my social circle. Poetry has given me the

confidence to be around new people and experience new friendships. It has made me

open to new experiences and differing views. Poetry has given me the opportunity to

see things in different viewpoints. I have been able to use Poetry as an outlet for my

stress and have used it to my personal and educational advantage.

To all the following colleges, I aspire to attend college because i would like to go

into a profession my family and I can be proud of. I want to change the cycle of

minimum wage that my family has had, I want my future kids to live a life they deserve. I

have experience of a veteran when it comes to meeting assignments deadlines. In my

mind dedication is key to passing my classes which transforms into success. To my

father I am an example of what he didnt have the opportunity to be and he wishes for

me to have the education he wishes he couldve acquired. I now have to hold that

weight on my shoulders. I have come a long way here through managing

responsibilities and completing projects,which would make me understand what hard

work really is. I have shown responsibility in various ways from arriving on time to

school to finishing homework for a grade. Poetry has allowed me to aspire to be the

best person I know I can be and I know Ill succeed thanks to everything I have been

through in my education.
