Infor Ming.le is a web application framework that provides a common user interface for integrated Infor
ERP applications. Infor Ming.le resides within the Microsoft SharePoint framework. All of the integrated
Infor applications in Infor Ming.le use SharePoint functionality, navigational elements, and connectivity
to social media outlets, providing access for Infor partners and customers.
The Infor Ming.le interface includes a header with menu options and icons that activate the display of
Infor ERP applications in the area below the header. To the right of the application area is a collapsible
panel, which hosts a series of Infor Ming.le context applications.
Infor Ming.le provides drill-back capability among Infor applications so that users can navigate from
one application to another to track transactions, the transfer of data, and report updates. Additionally,
Infor Ming.le, along with HTML and JavaScript technologies, provides an infrastructure for sharing
content among Infor ERP applications and Infor Ming.le context applications.
For more information on Infor Ming.le, refer to the Infor Ming.le User Guide. For information on Infor
applications, refer to the documentation available for each application.
This document describes the steps to install and configure the Infor Ming.le application in a single
server environment and provides details about the requirements, installation, and configuration of other
required software. Infor does not recommend the installation of products other than Infor Ming.le, ION,
and IFS on the same server.
Note: For additional details on more complex installation scenarios or for details on how to upgrade
an installation that includes Infor ION, Infor IFS, and Infor Ming.le or Infor Workspace, see the Infor
Ming.le/IFS Deployment Guide.

Average size of file attachments for Infor Ming.le = 500KB
SharePoint is not used as document management by the customer
Caution: The hardware requirements listed below do not include the hardware requirements
of the product running within the Infor Ming.le framework. Refer to the product specific sizing
guides for more information.
Category Requirement
CPU CPU power is an important performance factor
because Infor Ming.le is a rich and complex GUI
browser application. We recommend that you use
a CPU with an individual core speed of 2.0 GHz
or faster.
Memory To achieve optimal performance, a client system
running an Infor application withinInfor Ming.le re-
quires at least 2 GB of internal memory in the client
system. However, 4 GB internal memory is recom-
mended.
Screen resolution For optimal Infor Ming.le usage, a resolution of
1280 x 1024 is recommended. All Infor Ming.le
screens are designed for this resolution.
Software requirements
This section describes the software requirements, including Operating System requirements, for the
deployment configuration covered in this document. This document assumes that you are performing
a SharePoint single server farm installation, where both the database and SharePoint are installed on
the same server.
Caution: This document does not refer to any steps regarding user access control. Depending
on your server's individual configuration, you may be prompted to confirm that you are running
certain programs and installations.
Note: Infor Ming.le requires, at least, and is fully functional with the Foundation edition of SharePoint
2010 and SharePoint 2013. Microsoft provides two additional licensed (paid) editions of SharePoint
2010 and SharePoint 2013:
Server Standard
Server Enterprise
If you have business conditions outside Infor Ming.le that require either of these editions, you can use
them for Infor Ming.le. The overall installation process is the same. Wherever a different step is required,
it is noted.
Operating systems
Product Supported Versions
Operating System One of the following:
Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit Standard
Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit Enterprise
Windows Server 2012 64-bit Standard
Windows Server 2012 64-bit Datacenter
Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit Standard
Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit Datacenter
We recommend that you do not install Microsoft SharePoint 2010 or SharePoint 2013 and Infor Ming.le
on a server that is used as a Domain Controller.
Note: Microsoft requires a Domain Administrator account to install and configure AD FS 3.0 on Windows
Server 2012 R2.
For additional SharePoint Foundation 2010 or SharePoint Foundation 2013 hardware and software
requirements, refer to the hardware and software requirements (SharePoint Foundation 2010 or
SharePoint Foundation 2013) pages available on the Microsoft TechNet site. This page lists other
software products and frameworks required for the installation. You do not need to download and install
them manually because the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 installation files include a tool that
downloads and configures these artifacts automatically.
Caution: This document is targeted to a single server installation that uses Windows Server
2008 R2 64 bit Standard, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 64 bit Standard, and SharePoint
Foundation 2010. If there are any major differences in the steps required while using a supported
version of Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, or SharePoint it is noted in the specific step.
Twitter Tracker
Note: This context application applies only to Infor Ming.le Enterprise, not to Infor Ming.le Foundation.
Infor Ming.le includes a Twitter Tracker context application that allows users to track tweets, reply, and
re-tweet them. To be able to use this context application, you must obtain a consumer key and consumer
secret from Twitter. Refer to the Twitter Application page on the Twitter website at https://dev.twitter.
com/apps/new for information about how to register for the service and obtain an access key.
The Twitter Tracker context application also requires a root certificate to verify that the data transmitted
between the SharePoint server and Service Providers, such as Twitter, is valid and secure. You must
download the root certificate for the Twitter Tracker context application to work. Download the VeriSign
Class 3 Public Primary CA - G2 certificate from https://www.symantec.com/page.jsp?id=roots.
To download the certificate:
1 Click the link above and locate the correct certificate.
2 Right-click Download Root Now and click Save As.
3 Select a location in which to save the file and save it. Make sure that you save the file with a .cer
extension.
To import the file, see "Installing root certificates in SharePoint" on page 108.
Yelp
Infor Ming.le provides a Yelp context application that gives users access to Yelp city guides and enables
them to search for places to eat, shop, drink, and so on, based on options of an active local community.
To be able to use this context application you must obtain a Yelp API access code. Refer to the Yelp
website at http://www.yelp.com/developers/getting_started for information about terms of usage and
how to obtain the Yelp API access code.

Setup Role
On the Setup Role page, select SQL Server Feature Installation.
Feature Selection
On the Feature Selection page, you can select to install all features, but this is not required. This table
shows the minimum features you must select:
Server Configuration
Complete these steps:
1 Click Use the same account for all SQL Server services.
2 Select the SQLService account, if you created that account. If the account was not created, use the
default account.
Note: The preparation tool downloads components from the Microsoft Download Center; therefore,
you must have Internet access to the computer on which you are installing Microsoft SharePoint
Foundation.
4 On the Welcome to the Microsoft SharePoint Products Preparation Tool page, click Next.
5 On the License Terms for software product page, select the I accept the terms of the License
Agreement(s) check box, and click Next.
As the tool runs, it verifies all of the components required for the installation and downloads and
installs them. This process can take several minutes.
6 On the Installation Complete page, click Finish.
3 On the License Terms for software product page, select the I accept the terms of the License
Agreement(s) check box, and click Continue.
4 If you are prompted, on the Choose the installation you want page, click Server Farm.
Note: Depending on your server configuration, this page is not always displayed.
Field Description
Database server Type the name of the server where SQL Server
is installed. If an instance is used, add the in-
stance name, for example: Database Server
Name\Database Instance Name
Database name Provide a name for the SharePoint configuration
database. You can use the default name provid-
ed: SharePoint_Config, or use a name to help
you identify it in a database server used by mul-
tiple SharePoint instances. For example: Share-
Point_Config_MySharePointServer
Username Type the DOMAIN NAME\SPFarm user account.
While this account must already exist in the do-
main, it does not need to be previously added to
the Microsoft SQL Server because this installa-
tion process does so.
Password Type the password for the user being added to
the Microsoft SQL Server database.
6 Click Next.
7 On the Specify Farm Security Settings page, type a passphrase, and click Next. This passphrase,
for example, MyP4ssphr4S3!, must meet this security policy:
Contain at least eight characters
Contain at least three of any of these characters groups:
Uppercase characters (from A to Z)
Lowercase characters (from a to z)
Numbers (from 0 to 9)
Special characters (!, $, #, %)
Note: This passphrase is used to add servers to your SharePoint Farm. Store this passphrase in
a secure location.
a Select the Specify port number check box and type the port number you want the SharePoint
Central Administration application to use, or leave the check box cleared to generate a number
automatically. For a default installation, we recommend using port 13288. Record this number
because you must use it later.
b Click NTLM. This is the authentication provider for the web application to be created.
c Click Next.
9 On the Completing the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard page, review the configuration
settings to confirm that they are correct, and click Next. This process can take several minutes.
6 In this step, you provide information for SharePoint to create a default site that is accessible through
the URL: http://server name . This is a SharePoint standard site and is not related to the Infor
Ming.le site that you will create later. On the Create Site Collection page, provide:
The Title for the new site
The Description for the new site
Note: You can leave the URL field with the default value unchanged or leave the field blank.
A template to be used by the top-level site in the site collection. You can select any of the options
available; however, we recommend the Group Work Site .
Note: In SharePoint 2013, you must select the 2013 experience version from the drop-down
list. Select the Team Site template from the available templates shown.
7 Click OK.
8 From the Configure your SharePoint Farm page, you can access the newly created site by clicking
the Site URL link. Otherwise, click Finish to return to the SharePoint Central Administrator page.
Before you do so, make a note of the URL in the Site URL field so you can access your site later.
4 In the Administrators section, click Off to disable the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security settings,
and click OK.
Caution: Whenever you apply language packs provided by Microsoft, read the documentation
associated with it and make sure that you run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard
after you install each pack. To run the wizard, select Start > All Programs > Microsoft
SharePoint 2010 Products > SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard.
Caution: Whenever you apply patches provided by Microsoft (Service Packs, Cumulative
Updates, or Hot-Fixes), read the documentation associated with them and make sure that you
run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard after you install each patch. To run the wizard,
select Start > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products > SharePoint 2010
Products Configuration Wizard.
2 Sign in to the Central Administration Site (CAS) by using the SPInstall account. Select Start > All
Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products > SharePoint 2010 Central Administration.
3 Click Application Management, and click Manage Web Applications, displayed under the Web
Applications options.
4 On the Application Management page, click New on the left in the SharePoint ribbon menu to display
the Create New Web Application page.
5 Modify these default settings:
In the Authentication section, select the Claims Based Authentication option.
Note: In SharePoint 2013, the Claims Based Authentication option is removed.
In the IIS Web Site section, make sure that the Create a new IIS web site option is selected,
and enter a Name for your web application, for example, Infor Ming.le SharePoint.
Specify an available Port number for your web application to use, for example, 8080
Caution: Consider using the default web application created by SharePoint on port 80
to avoid users from being required to enter port numbers when accessing your website.
In this case, you can skip this task.
Optionally, you can specify a Host Header name to use in the URL for your application, for
example, sharepoint.infor.com. It is important that the name that you specify matches the Fully
Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of your server.
To obtain the Fully Qualified Domain Name of your server:
a Open your Windows command prompt. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories >
Command Prompt.
b Run the command: ipconfig
This displays the IP address of the server. Use this IP address in the next step.
c Run the command: ping -a <IP>
where -a returns the domain name of your server and <IP> is the IP address obtained in the
previous step.
The Fully Qualified Domain name is returned in the first response line after your command
between the word Pinging and the IP address you provided.
For example: Pinging myserver.mydomain.com [<IP>]
6 Locate the Application Pool section and modify these default settings:
Make sure that Create new application pool is selected and specify DOMAIN
NAME\SPServices account as the Configurable option.
Locate the Database Name and Authentication section. To make it easier to identify the database
used by your application, replace the long string of numbers and letters in Database Name, for
example WSS_Content_8fdf4d95865947c0acff56ea4f5eb801, with your server name, the word
Mingle, and the port selected for your application. For example:
WSS_Content_MySharePointServer_Mingle_8080.
You can leave all other fields on this page unchanged with their default values.
For additional details on more complex installation scenarios or how to upgrade an installation that
includes Infor ION, Infor IFS, Infor Ming.le or Infor Workspace, refer to the Infor Ming.le/IFS Deployment
Guide.

assigned to a set of accounting entities and locations. While setting up the document type
security, you can provide an indicator whether a user's accounting entity and location is
compared against a document's accounting entity and location. For a document type, you
can specify a set of security roles that can access the documents. While setting this up, if
you check the Accounting Entity flag, then only those documents that have the same
accounting entity as one of the accounting entities assigned to the user are viewable. If you
check the Location flag, then only those documents that have the same location as one of
the locations assigned to the user are viewable. If you check accounting entity and location,
then only those documents that have the same accounting entity as one of the accounting
entities assigned to the user and same location as one of the locations assigned to the user

If the below information does not help sufficiently, you can switch on additional Kerberos-related logging
and inspect the events in the System event log. See this Microsoft Knowledge Base article: http://
support.microsoft.com/kb/262177 .
You must run this command as administrator, otherwise this message is displayed: ERROR_ACCESS_
DENIED. Normally, when run as administrator, this command results in The command completed
successfully.
Cause: The application that uses Integrated Windows Authentication, such as IFS in Windows mode,
runs on a system, or a VM, which was restored to a previous state, with at least two machine password
changes in between. Therefore all communication using the machine account (
DOMAIN_NAME\hostname$) fails. By default, the Windows machine password is automatically changed
every 30 days. For details, see this blog post:
https://blogs.msdn.com/b/sudhakan/archive/2010/01/07/experimenting-with-windows-machine-account-passwords-and-vm-snapshots.aspx
Solution: Make the machine rejoin the domain. You must use a Windows domain account with sufficient
rights. See the above blog post for one method to do this. If your Windows domain has two different
names, such as INFOR and infor.com, you can use the following, simpler, procedure:
1 Right-click the Computer node and select Properties. Alternatively, in the Control Panel, select
System.
2 In the Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings section, click Change settings. The
System Properties dialog is displayed.
3 On the Computer Name tab, click Change....
4 Replace the displayed domain name by the alternative name for this domain and click OK.
For example, replace infor.com by INFOR.
5 Reboot the system.
Installation fails, log file recommends "manually creating the appropriate logins and
permissions in SQL Server"
The installation of IFS fails. The final screen shows a red icon with a cross, and the log file contains
these lines:
...
INFO : Checking database logins.
INFO : Creating connection to server '<SQL Server instance>', database
'INFORFS' (..).
INFO : Connection created.
INFO : Searching for login(s) ...
INFO : Therefore the following query should return 1: SELECT COUNT(*)
AS numberOfLogins FROM sys.server_principals WHERE ...
ERROR : ... login(s) found instead of ...
RECOMMENDATION : Please refer to the documentation for manually creating
the appropriate logins and permissions in SQL Server.
INFO : Checked database logins.
...
Earlier in the log file there may be ERRORs related to this, which indicate that something went wrong
while creating SQL Server logins.
Cause: For some reason, the installer could not create the appropriate account(s). An ERROR line in
the log file may provide more details.
Solution: Manually create the SQL Server logins. This section describes the logins to create, and how
to create them.
IFS 10 requires these logins in SQL Server:
If the database is on the same system as IFS:
IIS APPPOOL\IFSAppPool with read-write rights
The network service account with read-only rights
On English systems, this account is called NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE. On German
systems, it is called NTAUTORITT\NETZWERKDIENST, and so on. See http://msdn.microsoft.
com/en-us/library/ms143504.aspx#Localized_service_names .
Normally these accounts are automatically granted access to SQL Server by the installer, but this
administration failed for your installation. Therefore you must manually grant access to SQL Server.
To grant access to SQL Server for a Windows user XYZ\ZY, with read-write rights, run this SQL script,
for example using SQL Server Management Studio:
Cause: For some reason anonymous authentication is not sufficient to access Active Directory.
Solution: Complete these steps:
1 Navigate to IFS Configure > Parameters and specify the appropriate Active Directory path.
The tooltip explains you how to define the path, and provide an appropriate domain userid and
password.
2 Try the bootstrap action again.
The IFS application gives HTTP error 500.21 - Internal Server Error
Navigating to the IFS application results in this error message:
The IFS application, or some other application, gives HTTP error 404 (not found)
after configuring SharePoint
Navigating to the IFS application (or some other application) results in HTTP error 404, after you have
configured SharePoint.
Cause: You just ran the SharePoint Foundation 2010 Configuration Wizard. This wizard created an
IIS site called 'SharePoint - 80' with an HTTP binding on port 80. You already had IFS, or some other
application, installed on another site with a binding on port 80. Therefore, the other site and the
'SharePoint - 80' site cannot run simultaneously. Therefore, IIS has stopped the other site and IFS or
the other application is unreachable.
Note that there are many other causes for HTTP error 404. Therefore a different fix may be applicable.
Solution: Open the IIS Manager, and select and stop the 'SharePoint - 80' site. Select and start the
site containing IFS or the other application, and start it.
The IFS application, or some other application such as AD FS, gives HTTP error 500
after creating a new SharePoint web application
Navigating to the IFS application or some other application results in HTTP error 500, after you have
created a SharePoint web application.
Cause: When creating the SharePoint web application, you did not let SharePoint create an IIS site.
Instead you chose to use an existing site, specifically the site where IFS or some other application was
already installed. This action corrupted the other application.
Note that there are other causes for HTTP error 500. Therefore a different solution can be applicable.
Solution: Reinstall the software. Alternatively, you can remove or rename the web.config file at the
root of the site where IFS or the other application is installed. Note that this will pollute the site.
Cause: This can be caused by installing the SharePoint Foundation 2010 prerequisites, using the
SharePoint_SP2_en-us.exe installer. According to the following blog post, this issue can occur when
"you install DotNet framework 4.0 on IIS server and then enable DotNet 3.0 or 3.5 WCF features": http:
//devonenote.com/2010/06/could-not-load-type-system-servicemodel-activation-httpmodule/
Solution: Run this command line:
%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe /iru
Additional Data
Exception details:
Microsoft.IdentityModel.SecurityTokenService.RequestFailedException:
ID4007: The symmetric key inside the requested security token must be
encrypted. To fix this, either override the
SecurityTokenService.GetScope() method to assign appropriate value to
Scope.EncryptingCredentials or set Scope.SymmetricKeyEncryptionRequired
to false.
Cause: The absence of the service certificate in the Relying Party configuration in AD FS. The symmetric
key, to which the exception text refers, is a so-called 'proof key'. 'Proof key' is short for 'proof of
possession key'.
Solution: Import the certificate, only the public key, in the relying party in AD FS.
The IFS web app works but none of the web services work (problems about 'http
base address')
This problem consists of these parts:
The https://server.infor.com/IFS/ Web application works.
AD FS works.
The Configuration Service is not discoverable.
When accessing the claims-enabled Attribute Service at the .svc URL, for example https://
server.infor.com/IFS/AttributeService.svc, this error is displayed:
When accessing the Configuration Service at the .svc URL, for example https://[server].
[domain]/IFS/ConfigurationService.svc, this error message is displayed:
Could not find a base address that matches scheme http for the
endpoint with binding WSHttpBinding. Registered base address
schemes are https.
