experiences. This serves as a wonderful tool to promote home/school communication.

Lesson idea implementation: The classroom blog created using Edublogs will become a year-long source to
support student learning. Not only will special information and websites be listed on the blog, the flipped
classroom page will provide a special location for activities and projects that will be completed throughout
the school year. Students will have the opportunity to work independently or collaboratively with others.
Students who do not have access to the Internet from home will be given special work times throughout
the school day to help support the needs of these students. The website will serve as an introduction, review
or extension to a topic covered within the classroom.

Importance of technology:
This website is important because it is a way to connect with students and their parents. This blog allows for
communication and the teacher can also receive feedback from parents and students. It saves time and it is
one way to make sure that parents are getting the opportunity to participate in their childs learning. It is also
another way for students to receive the material that they are learning class. This blog will provide links and
activities to accommodate to the different learning styles of students. It would be hard to have the same kind
of impact that this blog has if there wasnt any technology. I could always just make a weekly news of what is
going on and have stuff for them to look at, but I have found that this is a way to better engage both parent
and students and they dont have to worry about trying to find the sites because they will be listed on my
blog.
Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Some issues that may arise with this site is making sure that I have
consent from the parents to show students work and making sure that I dont use the full names of students

when showing off their work. To make sure that I am not violating any of these policies I will double check
and make sure that I have student consent from the parent. I will make sure to forewarn parents when I want
to post their childs work and make sure that it is okay to do so.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. This is something that is very new and I hoping that it
will be a great way for parents to get involved in their childs learning. I hope that this will be another way for
communication from teacher to parent. I hope to see if this is effective and if students and parents really will
find it to be useful. I hope that this is also another way for students to receive the material in a different way
and prepare them for the new things that we will learn.
