    The Guildhall School of Music & Drama would be pleased to receive your opinion of this applicants suitability for a
    place at this School. The practical nature of the programmes means that students will be involved in long and
    intensive preparation, practice and rehearsal periods. They will have to work as members of a team or in groups but
    also be able to organise their own time and work without supervision. Details of the programmes and their entry
    requirements are available on our website www.gsmd.ac.uk

    We ask that you provide a reference within two weeks of the request. Please note that we operate an open reference
    policy and the applicant may view their reference.

    Referee Statement:

    Ken came to my jazz summer school in South West France in July 2017 for a week from Hong Kong. He
    showed great promise when I heard him play in groups. Ken is an accomplished violinist and although
    more experienced in the classical field has made progress in his jazz playing. He has some jazz
    language in his lines and a good sense of rhythm and groove. I was impressed by his ability to pick up
    new ideas quickly and his professional attitude when performing.
    I can thoroughly recommend him to your course of study and I think Ken has great potential.
