X Intern anticipates and acts on potential classroom disruptions.
X Intern maintains positive classroom climate.
X Intern responds to student behaviors appropriately.
Comments: You gave the students some instructions about where they could and could not sit before releasing them to
interview each other but it also might have been helpful to discuss or have them help you model what interviewing might
look like (eye contact, six-inch voices, note-taking, etc.) Your manner with the students is always very warm and
enthusiastic. If you can hear me, clap once works for you to get the students attention.

2. Instruction - Instructional Time

X Intern has materials, supplies, and equipment ready at the start of the lesson or activity.
X Intern gets class started quickly.
X Intern uses available time for learning and keeps students on task.
Comments: Madison, when you explained the sheet and how students were to go about interviewing each other, you often
had the students repeat the direction. You gave very specific directions, and answered the students questions so that they
knew exactly what to do. It was a good idea to cue the students at the halfway point so that they could switch partners and
stay on task.

Comments:

6. Evaluation/Assessment - Instructional Feedback

X Intern provides feedback on the correctness or incorrectness of in-class work to encourage student growth.
X Intern affirms correct oral responses appropriately and moves on.
X Intern provides sustaining feedback after an incorrect response by probing, repeating the question, giving a clue,
or allowing more time.
Comments: You used the interviewing time to talk with each pair of partners to keep them on task and model effective
interviewing behaviors. From what I could hear, your feedback to each student was responsive to what each needed.
Sometimes, students only needed to answer the questions in more detail. Others needed help recording answers.
