Dear Mr.

Campbell,
To be honest with you I do not really like writing, but I dont hate it. It is just one of
those things that I have come to accept is a part of school and life. Anyways I just figured I
would get that out of the way before I got too far into this. My name is Nick Czarnecki and I am
a freshman here at UNCC. I dont really like formal introductions, so that is as formal as its
going to get in this letter. Something funny is that back in high school people told me that I look
the cartoon character, Flat Stanley, and at first, I was like no I dont what are you people talking
about? Then I googled Flat Stanley and well, yeah, I kind of look like him and yeah, its funny. I
just play along with the joke now cause its funny and good fun, but if they ever make a Flat
Stanley live action you better bet I am going to audition for that. Something else that I want to
talk about is the fact that I am an Eagle Scout. Now to me that is something very important and
something that I am very proud of. The day after I passed my Eagle Scout Board of I was telling
some friends of mine about it and one of them asked me Well what does that even do for you?.
To him it was just some award and you can put it on your resume and it looks good and blah,
blah, blah. For me it was almost a decade of work, time, and commitment. I joined scouting
when I was in the second grade and I was eight years old, and then I got my Eagle Scout at
seventeen. For me it something that I put extreme value on because regardless of what anyone
else thinks I know the work that I put into that, and I know how hard it really is, and what it
really means. Now while I am an Eagle Scout and do hold the values of Scouting and everything
that learned from that program very highly I am still just a teenager, so I still do the same things
as other teenagers. For some reason whenever I told people that I was in Scouting back in middle
school and high school people seemed to think it wasnt cool or that I was a nerd and super
uptight about all the rules and stuff. That is not the case at all I am regular teenager just like
everybody else and I have done plenty of things that I will not talk about because they were
slightly less than ethical. Scouting and my mom taught me how to be a decent human being and
to treat all people with respect. I was taught not to judge people by religion, looks, race or
whatever judge them on their character. Most people are probably not going to talk about their
families and their siblings, and their parents, but Im not. If I started talking about my family I
could go on and on, and then when I finished it would look like I wrote one of the most
depressing and sad movie scripts the world has ever seen. Just know that I have family around
me that cares about me and loves me, and everything else is in the past. Now onto a more upbeat
note, hopefully that wasnt as boring and depressing as it was in my head, I guess this is the part
where I will talk about my hobbies. Like every other teenage I spend a lot of time on my phone,
it is just kind of normal now for you to walk into a room and see thirty or forty people just
staring at phone screen. Snapchat, Instagram stuff like that runs a lot of peoples lives and I am
really no different. I use social media to keep up to date on news, see when friends birthdays
are, check what people are doing in their lives because Im nosy and I need to know. Some other
hobbies are sports, like ninety percent of the TV I watch is ESPN with the ten percent split
between Game of Thrones and Netflix. I listen to a lot music, mainly Hip-Hop/Rap, whatever
you want to call it. Some people call it Hip-Hop some people call it Rap, its generally the same
thing. While that may be what I listen to a lot Ill listen to just about any kind of music except for
like death metal with like pig squeals and stuff, yeah thats not for me. I play video games just
like everything kid, I like to fish, I like rock climbing, I like cars. Normally Im not a very fancy
person gym shorts and t-shirts are pretty much my entire wardrobe. Im a pretty simple guy, I
really only need food, water, clothes, and internet to live my life, oh and somewhere to use the
bathroom, but other than that Im a pretty simple person. I dont need like ten-dollar coffee from
Starbucks, the dollar menu coffee from McDonalds is good for me. That pretty much covers me,
Im not really a fancy person I just want to go class and live life one day at a time.
