A Notion To The Editor Of The Local Newspaper

Dear Editor in Chief of the Local Newspaper! There are disasters happening

all over the country! Montana is on fire! Oregon is on fire! Washington is on fire!

Utah is on fire! Texas is in the middle of one of the biggest hurricane disasters!

Hurricane Harvey. And the Atlantic coast is being hit by Hurricane Irma!

I notion that we help them! We must send help for our fellow American

People! The Montana Wildfires are creating some of the worst air quality ever in

Missoula County. According to KPAX.com The air quality in Seeley Lake has been

deemed hazardous 18 out of 23 mornings! This has been leading to an increase in

respiratory problems and a potential increase in cardiac emergencies. How can

we help?

According to Statesmanjournal.com New wild fires have been spotted in

western Oregon making this season the most flammable season for west Oregon

yet! The largest of the new blazes was dubbed the Clagget Lake Fire and is now

77 acres long! How can we prevent these wildfires from happening?

Active large wildfires in Washington near Ferry point, Jolly mountain,

Sawmill creek, American, East Crater, Eagle Creek, Rim, Corpion, Potato hill,
Desolation, Milli, Pete, Umpaqua North Complex, and the high cascades. These

wild fires are causing mass amounts of bad air quality across Washington state.

Since there have been dozens of wildfires raging across the Pacific North

West there has been an unfurling of opaque smoke from the cascades to the

coast and ash has been raining down on cars, streets, and people. The blazes have

forced evacuations and prompted the governor of Washington to declare a state

of emergency. The skies have turned a disorienting color or brownish-orange, and

the air smells of burning wood. If you look outside you might think its just

clouds said Logan Johnson from the New York Times, and a meteorologist with

the National Weather Services of Seattles office. The downpour of salt and

pepper ash he added, is like nothing weve observed in quite some time.

Meteorologists say it has been an unusually dry summer in a region known for

rain.

According to the New York Times it has not rained significantly in Seattle

since June. So instead of moisture, we have a strong ridge of high pressure that

has settled over much of blocking storms from entering the area. As a result,

trees, grass, and other foliage have dried out, creating fuel that officials say is ripe

for ignition if lightning strikes or sparks fly.

Even here in Utah there have been recent wild fires. I drove past some of

them on the highway 89, and noticed very large burn marks, very close to peoples

houses. Im grateful we have people who can help us in crisis like these! But Id

like for us to make a notion for us to do more!

Texas is in the middle of one of the biggest hurricane disasters ever!

Hurricane Harvey. Houses have been destroyed, buildings have been destroyed,

families have lost everything! What can we do to help them? Hurricane Harvey

was an extremely destructive Atlantic hurricane which became the first major

hurricane to make landfall in the United States since Wilma in 2005. Ending a

record 12-year drought in which no hurricanes made landfall at such an intensity

in the country!

After Hurricane Harvey made landfall and dropped more than 2 feet of rain,

thousands of people in Houston and along the gulf coast have been displaced.

According to NPR, FEMA administrator Brock Long estimated that 30,000 people

may need shelter, and some 450,000 may qualify for federal flood victim

assistance. The victims of hurricane Harvey need help! There are several general

relief non profit organizations trying to connect doners with innovative solutions.

One of which is The Greater Houston community Foundation One of the ways

to help is to donate money for the families in need! But we need to do more.
As if fires across the nation, and Hurricane Harvey werent enough of a

catastrophe already, Hurricane Irma is hitting the Atlantic coast! It is said to be

the most extremely powerful and catastrophic cape verde type hurricane, and the

most intense observed hurricane in the Atlantic since Dean in 2007. Irma caused

widespread and catastrophic damage throughout parts of the Caribbean and the

Florida Keys.

As fellow people of the American Nation, I notion that we work together

and help one another. And help those in need.
