Bagu, Bakun, Benguet

I. Activities

A. Fieldwork

Visited an 18-year-old female who was experiencing headache, stomach ache,


and loose bowel. Her vital signs were measured and fortunately all were
normal. Instructed her to drink oral rehydration solution and prescribed pain
reliever. Her father asked about the side effects of injectable contraceptives
because his daughter was just injected for the first time. I discussed the
possible side effects of the chosen contraceptive.

Visited a 72-year-old female who is unable to walk because of an accident. Her


vital signs are normal. I instructed and demonstrated to her and to her family
member how to exercise her legs.

Visited an 86-year-old female who is unable to see. She was also a post-stroke
patient. I instructed her family member on what they should feed her and also
about her maintenance medications.

Visited a 77-year-old post-stroke male patient who is experiencing half body


paralysis. Health teachings about proper diet and his medications was
instructed.

Conducted sitio visit at Sitio Ig-igang, Bugnay, Caang, Bilig and Aladog. Members
of some households were assessed for the TSEKAP report and monitoring.
Blood pressure monitoring and blood sugar testing were done. Furthermore,
height and weight of children and some adults were measured. Vitamin A and
deworming tablets were also distributed to children and adults during the visit.

Conducted purok class at sitio Caang and Bugnay. Topics about Vitamin A
supplementation, deworming, proper toilet sanitation, hypertension and
increased blood sugar were discussed. Signs and symptoms, prevention and
management were also reiterated during the purok class.
B. MNCHN services

Assisted the RHM in providing prenatal services to pregnant mothers. Leopold


Maneuver was done. Helped them in accomplishing their emergency birth plan.
Discussed to them the danger signs during pregnancy and to go for consultation
if these danger signs are felt. Instructed them to deliver in a health facility, to
continue their ferrous sulfate + folic acid, and to come back for their follow up
check-up.

Assisted during the immunization at the barangay health station. Weight and
length of babies were taken. Reminded the mothers to bring back their babies
on the next immunization schedule. Two babies received Pentavalent Vaccine,
Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine and Oral Polio Vaccine while three babies,
who were already completely immunized received Measles, Mumps, Rubella
Vaccine.

Garantisadong Pambata provided children ages 6 months to 70 months with


Vitamin A. Some of the children were also instructed to cut their nails or to let
their parents cut their nails and the proper way and when to wash their hands.

Dispensed contraceptive pills to some women of reproductive age

Materials things are not important because it can be replaced. The important
thing is that we are physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually
strong and healthy.

Good working relationship with your co-workers will lead to excellent result.

Its alright to make a mistake as long as you learn from that mistake.
