1.0 Introduction

a) The emotional, social and physical development of young children has a direct effect on
their overall development and on the adult they will become.

b) Children who live at the orphanage carry an emotional baggage that is too much to be
handled by children. Year after year, they have to celebrate special month like Ramadhan
and Syawal away from their family or loves one.

c) The following proposal outlines the planning to held a iftar jamie in Rumah Tunas Harapan
Darul Hilmi, Seberang Takir, Kuala Terengganu.

2.0 Statement of Need

(Provide at least three supports/ evidence (from newspaper/ journals/ other documents) to show that there
is a clear and urgent need for the project)

1) Over 8 million kids in institutions worldwide, more than 90% are not orphans. Orphans
make up only a small percentage of the inhabitants of kids institution. The rest of the
children who live there do have parents but are forced to live apart from them for various
reasons.

2) Most of the children institution have the recurring nightmare which is running short of funds
at the end of the month. The Prophet said: He who gives food for a fasting person to break
his fast, he will receive the same reward as him, except that nothing will be reduced from
the fasting persons reward. [Ahmad, at-Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah, Ibn Hibbaan, Saheeh].

3) This send a loud and clear signal for the society to help to reduce the burden of these
unfortunate children and put back a smile in their face.

Thus, it is proposed that an iftar jamie will be held for one month in in Rumah Tunas Harapan
Darul Hilmi to cherish their Ramadhan.

3.0 Goals and Objectives (Provide two goals and 3 measurable objectives for each goal)

Goal 1 To strengthen the bonds between orphans and students.

a) To jointly perform Terawih with 30 children at Rumah Tunas Harapan Darul Hilmi

b) To provide food as Juadah Berbuka Puasa for 30 days.

c) To make preparation of Hari Raya with them in seven days before Aidiladha.

Goal 2 To reduce the burden of unfortunate children in the Rumah Tunas Harapan.

a) To fill their heart spiritually and emotionally during special month.

b) Encourage them to fulfill 30 days fasting in Ramadhan with happiness.

c) Encourage the society near the Rumah Tunas Harapan to concern about the children who
are in needs and help in term of money and emotional support.

1. The project would provide the food for Iftar at the Rumah Tunas Harapan

2. Improve their knowledge on Islam by inviting the speakers and do the religious activity.

3. To strengthen the bond between members at Rumah Tunas Harapan and the students of
Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.

SWOT analysis:

Strengths: We have 30 good facilitators to handle all the members and participants and give them
an interesting and fun activity.

Weaknesses: Minimum budget because the program is for 30 days, the participants might exceed the
budget.

Opportunities: To build a strong relationship with the orphanage and make it easier to collaborate in
future.

Threats: The speaker might not be able to attend the event because of the busy schedule.

5.0 Promotional Plans (Provide 3 types of promotional plans)

a) Put a banner of the Iftar program me in front of Rumah Tunas Harapan Darul
Hilmi.
b) Invite famous speaker : Ustaz Kazim & Ustaz Azhar Idrus

c) Flyers and posters will be distributed to people that live nearby Rumah Tunas
Harapan Darul Hilmi.

6.0 Operational Costs (RM)

Materials: Menu For 30 Days: RM 15,000

Logistics: Banner = RM 100

Poster = RM100

Rental: Payment for Speaker: Rm2900x2= RM 5,800

Facilitators: Allowance Hari Raya = RM 3,000

Other items Clothes for 30 children = RM 6,000

Grand Total: RM 30, 000

a) Volunteering allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place.

b) Volunteering can also help you build the skills you already have and use them to benefit
the greater community.

c) Strengthen the relationship between other people and get to know each other by doing
the activities.
