Kill the Cow

Anyone who has salvation has his spirit redeemed by the Lord, his mind being delivered, and his
body being yet delivered. So he who accepted Jesus in his heart as his Lord and Savior has already his
soul unto God, yet the problem is what is in our head. Though we have been saved by the Blood of the
Lamb, our minds are still in the process. It is because our mind is shaped by our culture, any external
contributors such as family, education, community, and environment. What our cultural background is is
the main factor molding our minds. Therefore, everyone does not perceive the same thing as the others
as they have come from different culture. Paul proves in Romans 12:1 that each of whom is saved has
their spirits of the Lord, but in verse 2 is his request that our minds be transformed by the renewing of
our minds to show what is good, acceptable, perfect, which is the will of God. Our mind is already being
dictated of our cultural background, and if we want a change of this worldliness, do what Paul says us to
do in Romans 12:2. (Remember: Worldliness is not an external thing, that which is of the world, but an
internal thing, that which is of sin) Everything you want to be in action or especially in change in your life
starts in your mind, and when you think down, your life goes down; when you think up, you go up. It is a
matter fact that how your mind works is your reality in life.

So in the story of the Israels deliverance from Egypt, we can see how we can base an example
of simple reality of Christianity. The Lord has shown many miracles with his use of Moses. He has split
the sea, and the Israelites then found out that they had no more enemies. In other words, they have
been delivered! However, due to the exposure of slavery and of how they have been in Egypt, their
minds were still having no complete deliverance and redemption. Though they have been saved by the
Blood of the Lamb, their escape from the culture is not. They still search, crave for the past though their
past is already gone.

Now here is really the purpose of the title, Kill the Cow. Moses left his men for 40 days, and
while he was going the Mt. Sinai, having communion with the Lord finished, he saw them being led
making a golden cow. So, the question in a believers life is, How come that you still have a golden
cow in your mind when you have already been saved. Is it by the fire that melted the gold, springing up
the cow, or is it by your mind influenced by the external forces of your own culture? So, brethren, stop
allowing your circumstances feed your reality. Be reminded of what the Bible said in Romans 12:2.
