Dear Senior Portfolio Committee,

I am writing today in the hopes that my Senior Portfolio will be approved. I have worked very hard
over my three-plus years here at BCMHS to get where I am today, and I hope that an approval of
the senior portfolio presented here will allow me to move past high school into my future.

I believe that the rigor of the courses here at BCMHS has prepared me quite well for any future
career I might choose to pursue. It has provided me with a work ethic and a sense of responsibility
and perspective that I did not have coming into high school here. The essays enclosed have taught
me a good deal about proper time management (and typing skills). The presentations enclosed
have taught me how to speak well in front of an audience, and how to present information
coherently. BCMHS introduced me to an elementary school tutoring program, which was very
interesting and made me begin to think about a career in education. I have decent grades and I have
never received any disciplinary action at this school. BCMHS has done a great job of preparing
me for my future.

I have applied to three Universities of California (Santa Barbara, Davis, and Santa Cruz) as well
as a CSU (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo). Id like to major in English and enroll in a teaching
credential program (preferably at the same college Im getting my degree). I then want to teach
high-school English.

I hope that this letter has convinced the Senior Portfolio Committee to approve my portfolio. Ill
continue to finalize my vision for my future, and Ill continue to work at my goals. Thank you for
your time.
