Lesson Objectives: students will able to find fractions of a shape.

Main Lesson Aims (Concepts, Procedures, & Processes):

The students will able to do identify half of a shape.


The students will able to identify quarters of shape.
The students will able to do jam sandwich activity.
The students will able to do roll a fraction activity using dice.
The students will able to coloring the shapes based on fractions.
The students will able to cut out of the shapes and paste item into halves or quarters column.
Students Prior Knowledge: Know the shapes.(square, circle, rectangle ,triangle)

Lesson Schedule

Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge): time:

- After the greeting, I will ask the students to sit on the spots on the ground.

- I will display the fruits to students, and tell them what do we have in the bag?

- I will choose one student to pick up banana and tell her/his to divide it to two 20 min

other students in equal parts.

- I will tell students to account the parts of banana and tell them thats called half.

I will tell them should be equal parts.

- I will Write the fractions 1/2 on the white board and tell students thats the form

in math to write half.

- I will tell another student to pick an apple and divide it to four students in equal

parts.

- I will tell students to account the parts of apple and tell them thats called quarter

I will tell them should be equal parts.

- I will Write the fractions 1/4 on the white board and tell students thats the form

in math to write quarter.

- I will stick shapes on white board to explain fractions on it one by one.

- I will stick whole circle, 2 half circle, quarter circle.

- I will ask student what this circle is a whole, next one have two parts, so its a

half circle, third circle have 4 parts, so its a quarter circle.

- Then, I will stick a whole square, half and quarter and ask them to get which one

whole and which one is equal or half.

Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):

- I will divide them in 4 groups to do activities about story.


- I will tell students to back to their table group by group.
- First group will do jam sandwich activity with me.

- Second group will do roll a fraction activity using dice with Ms.Sajena.
- Third group will do color the shapes based on fractions activity with Ms rose.
- Fourth group will do cut out of the shapes and paste item into halves or quarters
