3. c) identify the division statement that represents a fraction.

Activity
The student will first review what fractions are in the pre-lesson review.
The students will then watch the presentation that the teacher is making
showing examples of different fractions using popular foods (i.e. pizza,
apples, sandwiches, oranges and pies).

They will then look at how a popular shape, can be divided into many equal
parts. The teacher will try to engage the students by asking them a
challenge question, using a food almost everyone enjoys, pizza. After
answers are reviewed, the teacher will divide everyone into groups and give
them a challenge problem. The teacher will allow them to come up in
groups to present their answers and write them on the board.

The teacher will then introduce fraction equivalency and how to order
fractions from least to greatest. She will throw out different questions
asking student to solve them. After answers are reviewed, the teacher will
allow the students to get more practice by allowing the students to come up
to the smart board and do practice exercises by matching equivalent
fractions.
