2.2 Caeras
4(11)

GENERAL INFORMATION
The DAT 5020 signal converter is able to accept at its input a large selection of analog normalized signals. The input signal is
processed and converted into the corresponding output analog normalized signal previously programmed. Moreover it operates at
2000Vac full isolation among input, output and power supply. This allows to eliminate the problems coming from the reciprocal
influence of the various circuits, and also originated from the induced noise through the ground loops. The type and the value of the
input signal, and the type and the value of the output signal are configurable in a wide range of combinatios (see table "Configurability").
They are selected by means of suitable DIP switches. It is also available a potentiometer input, to measure position, level etc. , besides
a power supply source (Vaux) for an eventual transmitter. Vaux is isolated from both the power supply and the output circuit.
The DAT 5020 unit, developped, manufactured and tested in strict accordance with the quality assurance standard ISO 9001 / EN 29001,
is in compliance with the directive 89/336/CEE on the electromagnetic compatibility. It is packaged into a strong plastic enclosure
of only 12,5mm thickness, allowing an high density mounting capability on DIN rail.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The converter must be powered with a Power Supply Voltage comprised in the 18V to 32V range which must be connected to the
terminals R (+24Vdc) and Q(GND3). The green LED switched on indicates the situation of a correct power supply. The input signal,
voltage or current, must be connected to the terminals L(IN V/I) and indifferently to E, G, I. For the potentiometric measure, the
potentiometer must be connected between terminal H(POT HI) and indifferently to E, G, I.
The auxiliary 24Vdc output is available between the terminalsF(+24Vdc) and indifferently E, G, I. The output signal, voltage or current,
is available between the terminals N(OUT V/I) and M, O, P indifferently. The input and output configuration is possible by means of
the two DIP switches DSI and DSO. They are accessible only after the opening of the apposite door on the housing. The table of
"Configurability" shows the lists of the possible input and output signals and the positioning of the switches to obtain their
combinations. The DAT 5020 unit is supplied with the requested configuration at the moment of the order. In case of order without
this specification, the unit is supplied with a standard setting: IN= 0-10V and OUT= 0-10V. In the case it is necessary a calibration
of the device , it can be done in a very simple manner thanks to the complete independence of the zero and span regulations.

Reference Value
Item Value Definition
Reliability (MTBF) 135,000 hrs min. MTBF stands for Mean Time Between Failures, which is calculated according to the
probability of accidental device failures, and indicates reliability of devices.
Therefore, it does not necessarily represent a life of the product.
Life expectancy 8 yrs. min. The life expectancy indicates average operating hours under the ambient
temperature of 40C and a load rate of 50%. Normally this is determined by the life
expectancy of the built-in aluminum electrolytic capacitor.

Overload Protection
The Power Supply is provided with an overload protection function that protects the load and the power supply from possible damage by over-
current. When the output current rises above a set value (refer to the table below), the protection function is triggered, decreasing the output
voltage. When the output current falls within the rated range, the overload protection function is automatically cleared.
Note: 1. When using the 7.5-W single-output models within the input voltage range between 90 and 110 VDC, the overload protection func-
tion will operate at currents from 95% to 160% of the rated load current.
2. When using the 90-W model at an ambient temperature exceeding 25C, the overload protection function will operate at currents
from 92% to 111% of the rated load current.
3. When using the 100-W model with PFC in parallel operation, the overload protection function will operate at currents from 3.78 to
4.2 A.

Undervoltage Alarm Indicator and Output Function
(All Models Except for S82K-24024/P24024)
If the output voltage at the output terminal drops to 75% to 90% of the rated voltage, the red indicator of the S82K (DC LOW indicator) will be lit. In
the case of the S82K-j09024/j10024/24024T, a voltage drop alarm will be output via the relay available in the models (DC LOW output).
Note: This function detects the voltage at the output terminal of the Power Supply. To check the precise output voltage, measure the voltage
at the terminal of the load.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
SAFEMATIC-CENTRALIZED LUBRICATION SYSTEM
Order of installation
3 DOSING MODULES
1 BASE PLATES FOR THE DOSING MODULES, LUBRICATION LINES AND AUXILIARIES
* Locate the base plate, if possible, centrally in relation to the lubrication points so
that the maximum length of the lubrication pipe does not exceed six meters. The
recommended average length for lubrication pipes is three meters.
* Provide the base plate for branch piping with straight male connectors (PEL 12 LR
1/4") and tighten the connector down firmly.
BPSG-base plates can be installed in succession into the branch piping, whereby
male connectors are installed at both ends.
Alternatively the base plate can be installed at the end of branch piping, whereby
it is provided with plugs (R 1/4").
* Install the taper threaded outlet connectors (PEL 6 LLR) of lubrication pipes using
sealing glue or sealing tape.
* Plug the unnecessary outlet connections with taper threaded 1/8" plug. Mount the
plug when installing the dosing module. Every package of a dosing module with
one outlet contains also the required amount of plugs.
* Fasten the base plate into the surface with M8 x 40 hex screws. Bore the
mounting holes 7,1 and tapp the hole.
When fastening into the concrete, use cotter bolts, size M6 x 65
Material Precision steel pipe ( 6 mm) or alternatively fibre-reinf thermoplastic hose 8/4
.
* Prefill the lubrication lines with the lubricant to be used before bending, cutting
and connecting. Use in prefilling the grease pump of the lubrication center.
* In case the lengthening of pipes is required, use straight connectors (JAL 6 LL).
* Fasten the pipes with steel clamps, whereby the pipes can be formed in set of 1 -
6 pipes. Recommended mounting distance 0,5 m.
When required, the lubrication line is equipped with hose dimensioned for the
requirements of moving lubrication point and with suitable connectors.
* Connect the pipe at lubrication point to threaded bearing opening with male elbow
(KKL 6 LL) or straight connector (PEL 6 LL).
Size of piping
28 x 2,5 or 22 x 2 or 12 x mm depending on the circumstances and the
pumping distance
Material Precision steel pipe. The delivered pipe material is cleaned and plugged.
Location The main piping is installed along the route indicated in installation drawing and as
linearly as possible to reduce pumping distance.
* For bending use bending pliers in accordance with the pipe diameter.
* Collect the piping with straight connectors. Reduce the size of piping with
reducers (SUL).
* Pre-tighten the connector ferrules in the pre-tightening socket with the aid of
shearing oil. Clean this prepared component by pressure air.
* Provide the outlets of pressure lines I and II with straight connectors and reducers
12 mm.
* Install T unions of the branch piping. Mount the reducer (SUL -/-) on the free
branch and pre-tighten.
Fastening Fasten the main piping with plastic SM clamps and with the aid of a double
washer.
* Fasten the washer into the steel surface with self-threading M6 x 16 screw (steel
5,7 mm). When fastening into the concrete, use cotter bolt M6 x 40. Fastening
distance 2 m.
* Connect the branch piping, size 12 mm, to the main piping from T union.
* Fasten the branch pipe with plastic clamps. Fastening distance max. 1,5 m.
* Fasten the washer into the base with self-threading M6 x 16 screw or cotter bolt
M6 x 40.
* Protect the unfinished piping against impurities with the plugs included in delivery.
* Moving or vibrating lubrication points in the main and branch piping are provided
with suitably dimensioned hoses.

3 DOSING MODULES
* Remove the protective tape of base plate. Make sure that the surfaces are clean
and the bottom seals of dosing modules are in place.
* When mounting the dosing modules, check that the indicatiors' operating direction
is the same.
* Tighten the fastening screws moderately. The torque is sufficient when the bottom
seal compression is used and the flat surfaces of dosing modules and base plates
are pressed against one another.
* Adjust the dosing module to the basic setting values before tightening
* Pressure air is supplied from the lubrication center to the line I. Pressure air
discharges from the piping throughout the base plate openings on the side of the
line concerned.
By marking the out flowing pipe you can mount the dosing modules so, that they
all operates in the same direction.
Alter having mounted the dosing modules, start to fill the main and branch piping with lubricant in
the following order.
1. Check to make sure that end plugs of the extreme dosing module sets in the
branch piping are turned half open.
2. While the pump is running, check the lubricant flow on to the base plate from the
nearest dosing module sets. Check the pumping operation until there is no air in
the lubricant overflowing from the base plate and any impurities have been
removed. Tighten the end plug and proceed to the next dosing module set and
repeat the above steps.
* The operation test is performed by the normal operating pressure of the system ;
in the range of 80 - 160 bar depending on the system size.
* The pressure gauge value at the remotest pressure control unit has to raise to the
value range of 80 - 160 bar. Within this range all the dosing modules have to
operate. You can observe the operation by watching the indicator pins' movement,
which should be in the pressurizing direction.
BY PUMPABILITY TESTED AND APPROVED GREASES FOR SAFEGREASE AUTOMATIC LUBRICATION SYSTEM
Safematic is continuously testing the pumpability of different grease qualities for Safegrease automatic lubrication systems.
These tests will discover the pumping characters of the grease in the pipelines of the lubrication system. The test do not
concer the other technical features of the greases. Pumping characters are tested bothed in normal and in arctic
temperatures. This list includes only the greases since 14.3.1994 tested and approved by Safematic. There are many other
greases suitable for automatic grease lubrication, but nit tested by Safematic. If you need any further information about
greases suitable for Safematic automatic lubrication systems, please contact our technical service.

6. Llene la manguera de lubricante, bombeando manualmente.

3 USO
4 AJUSTE
4.1 Generalidades
