National Law Institute University, Bhopal
(NLIU) is pleased to invite you to the sixth
edition of the NLIU-INADR International
Law School Mediation Tournament to be
held from 17th to 19th November, 2017.
We have the distinction of organizing the
oldest and the largest meditation
competition in Asia. The past five editions
of the tournament have been a huge
success. Proficient judging, knowledge
partnerships with stalwart organizations
such as the INADR, punctual rounds, and
great hospitality all make each edition of
our tournament a grand success.

ABOUT NLIU
Established in 1997, NLIU offers a five-year
undergraduate law programme along with
post-graduate and doctoral level courses. Since
its inception, the University has
grown rapidly to become one of the most
prestigious and highly ranked law universities
in India, and has been consistently rated as
one of the best law schools in the
country. Its sprawling campus is situated in the
outskirts of the City of Lakes, Bhopal, the
capital city of the state of Madhya Pradesh in
India. NLIU has consistently aimed at
achieving excellence in the legal field, and this
has been most evident in the achievements of
our alumni, who are involved in diverse aspects
of the law and have established

TRAINING
SESSION
Training by professionals from the INADR and
other partner organizations forms an integral
part of this tournament. In the training
sessions, the participants are introduced to the
structure of mediation session and to the
intricacies of mediation such as caucuses,
opening statements, summations, closing
statements and general conduct during the
session. More importantly, participants are
taught the art of identifying the real issues
involved and of dealing with them in the
course of mediation session. These training
sessions are designed to prepare the
participants not only for the competition, but
also to train them for real life situations.

The International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR) was founded in 2002 and is
based out of Des Moines, USA, to further the awareness of mediation as a means of
establishing peaceful resolution. Its mission is to encourage society to resolve
differences and disputes in a more sensitive and compassionate manner, and to
promote peace and civility in human behavior. As the Academy has grown, it has
become the umbrella organisation of three distinct student organisations- the
International ADR Society, the International Law School Mediation Tournament, and the
National Intercollegiate Mediation Tournament.
