Executive Summary
The following summarizes the decision-making process of our team, Busy Bees. Over
numerous team meetings we were able to come up with different solutions. Our team purpose
was to be able to create criteria and solve the following problem: what is the best solution to the
Walker familys transportation needs?

Using the Deweys Reflective Thinking Sequence in our meetings via Skype, we
analyzed and went over the characteristics of the problem, how the stakeholders would be
affected by the solution, the effectiveness of what had been tried already to solve the problem,
and poring over policies and practices that could limit the possible solutions toward solving the
Warner familys problem.

The goal of the case was to find a solution that would be beneficial and pragmatic to each
family member. We created a set of criteria through which we could determine the best possible
solution, afterwards we mulled over multiple solutions. We then scored our solutions based on
how well they met the preset criteria.

We have decided that the solution to our problem is to attack the problem at its roots:
financial discrepancy. The solution involves the entire family coming together and finding
alternative methods to save money. This involves the children obtaining jobs to pay towards their
car insurance. They will also apply for scholarships to help pay for college, and to make this
effective they will need to stay on top of their grades. The parents will reassess their monthly
budget and see where they can remove excess spending. One of the criteria was to satisfy
scheduling needs, thus we have decided the family needs to meet weekly to keep communication
a priority and to maintain the scheduling needs of each individual.
The goal of the criteria was to find a solution that served each family member. We created a set
of criteria by which to determine the best possible solution and then brainstormed solutions
together. We scored our solutions based by how well they met our criteria best.
