I am proud of our students' recent efforts to support our
Vicki Rardin community and demonstrate civic responsibility. Some of

Food drive
We would like to thank all a

drive! Thanks to the
generosity of so many NEMS families,
we had another very successful year of
helping those in need in our community.
Exploring Music recitals
Our Exploring Music students will be
performing short recitals on Tuesday,
December 19, in the LGI room. Parents
are invited to come and hear what these
students have accomplished this
quarter! The performances will be
during the students regular music
classes so please verify your childs class
time with them so you know which time
slot to attend.

Scholars program offers
income-eligible Hoosier
students up to FOUR
years of PAID tuition at
an eligible Indiana college or university
after they graduate from high school.

Performing Arts winter concerts
The NEMS Performing Arts winter
concert series began last week
with amazing performances by the
7th and 8th grade orchestras,
honors orchestra, and the 7th and
8th grade bands.
Both NEMS Jazz bands, Field Drive Funk and 16th Street Groove,
performed exceptionally at the Bloomington Jazz Festival on
Saturday.
The choirs will perform two separate concerts in the Noblesville
High School auditorium on Wednesday, December 13. The 6th
grade choir & Vocal Revolution will perform at 6:30 pm with 7th
and 8th grade choirs to follow at 7:30 pm. There is no charge to
attend the choir concerts. DVDs/Blue-Rays of the performances
will be sold for $20.
Schedule and report card distribution
The second quarter grading period and first semester will end
on December 22. When school resumes on Tuesday, January 9,
students will need to find their new quarter 3 schedules in
PowerSchool or pick up a paper copy from their Team Leaders
before reporting to their first period classes.
Second quarter report cards will be sent to parents via email the
week of January 8, 2018. Paper copies will be sent home with
students whose families do not have an email address on file.
You may also access your childs grades at any time by logging
into the PowerSchool Parent Portal with the account you
created at https://powerschool.nobl.k12.in.us/public/
Student withdrawals/ contact information
If you will be moving out of the
district over the winter break,
please contact our registrar, Mrs.
Miller, at 317-773-0782 as soon as
possible to begin the withdrawal process. Students who are
withdrawing must turn in their school issued iPad and iPad
charging brick before break. Student records will be forwarded
to the new school after the withdrawal process has been
completed.
Please also be sure to contact Mrs. Miller any time you have a
change in contact information such as email address, phone
number, or mailing address so we are able to reach you with any
necessary information regarding your child.

**No Activity Bus December 21**
The last Thursday afternoon Activity Bus for 2017 will run on
Thursday, December 14. There will NOT be an Activity Bus on
Thursday, December 21!
Freshman scheduling for 8th grade students
The high school scheduling process for 8th grade students will
begin in January with NHS counselors visiting students during
the school day on January 10 and 11.
8th grade students and their parents/guardians are invited to
attend the Noblesville High School Course Fair on Wednesday,
January 17th, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the NHS cafeteria.
Teachers in a variety of subject areas will showcase their
courses in an interactive way, utilizing technology and student
representatives to illustrate their curriculum.
An important presentation related to course selection and the
transition to high school will be held in the NHS auditorium for
current 8th grade students and their parents/guardians.
Noblesville East families should plan to attend the 6:30 p.m.
presentation. Noblesville West families should plan to attend
the 7:00 p.m. presentation.
Community activities
All are invited to attend the NHS holiday choir festival Sat Dec 16
at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased
at www.nhscpo.org

Noblesville Youth Assistance invites grandparents raising youth to
a free coffee conversation January 16 at 10:00 am at the
Hamilton North Public Library in Cicero. Meet other grandparents
raising children, learn about resources, pick up tips on social
media, and enjoy coffee and refreshments.
