Background: https://www.physio-pedia.com/Anterior_Cruciate_Ligament_(ACL)_Injury
In an ACL tear, the person shows very abnormal lower extremity alignment and as well posture.
During an ACL tear, the injury usually happens when the athlete suddenly changing direction
from external rotation to internal rotation. The reason it tears is because the ACL is already in a
state of tension, when there is sudden rotation of the knee causes the ACL to rupture. Another
reason on how ACL tears happen is because of neuromuscular imbalances. This is could be from
the valgus angle in the knee. This causes the ACL to be lax and causing the ACL not being ready
for sudden movement. For women, they have wider hips causing the knees to have a high q angle
causing a higher risk in ACL tears. For men, they have a less q angle.
Hypothesis:
Since women have wider hips, this will make them have a higher valgus angle. Women showing
more of a valgus angle when they land will a higher risk of an ACL tear compared to men.
Procedure:
1.Step off a chair or box that's about 24 inches high. Land softly on the ground with two feet and
2 Using Technique, film the landing and the jump. 3. Repeat 2 more times.
4. At the deepest part of the squat on the landing, measure the valgus angle of each knee
