Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Romeo RJ Sustiguer Jr. describes himself as a lifelong
learner, a management professional and a youth leader. Much of his exposure is in the field of
business having graduated with an undergraduate degree (cum laude) and masters degree in
Business Administration from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City, gone
through special trainings on management from Harvard University (Strategic Management of
NGOs), Pennsylvania State University (Certificate in Talent Management and Competency
Modeling), WIPO Academy (Intellectual Property), Asian Development Bank institute (E-
Business, E-Learning and E-Government), World Bank Institute (International Trade and CSR)
and his long exposure in the family enterprise. His recent academic milestones include graduating
from the Doctor of Education major in Educational Leadership and Management from the
University of the Visayas last 2015 and now, studying Juris Doctor at the University of the East.
Currently, he sits as the vice chair of the board of trustees and college instructor of Green Valley
College where he has worked for the last 10 years and has become instrumental in the schools
expansion to becoming the biggest private Senior High School system in Region 12. At the same
time, he is immersing himself in the real estate professional being a licensed real estate broker,
appraiser and environmental planner. He is also president of the MGC Capital Holdings, a start
up company involved in IT, Digital Marketing, Franchising, and Agriculture.
It is with these various engagements where RJ was able to find his passion in education and
youth empowerment. RJs achievements include representing the Philippines in various
international programs: that is, the Aseanpreneurs Leaders Exchange Program in Jakarta
Indonesia (2009), the A.P.O. Forum in Entrepreneurship in Tokyo, Japan (2010), the KM for SME
Leaders in Taiwan (2013) and the One Young World Summit in London, UK (2010), Zurich,
Switzerland (2011) and Pittsburg, USA (2012). He also headed the ASEANpreneur Network, a
Singapore-based network of young leaders promoting entrepreneurship in the ASEAN region, as
the Philippine Country Manager in 2009.
RJ has initiated, as lead co-convenor, the advocacy project One Young Mindanao as a platform
to develop the next generation of young leaders of Mindanao. His other engagements include
being the past Vice President of the Mindanao TVET Association in 2015, the past President of
the UP Alumni Association SOCSARGEN, an incumbent trustee of the Marketing Institute of the
Philippines and an incumbent Vice President (Mindanao) of the TEVSAPHIL, the national techvoc
association in the Philippines.
