Research Plan

Improvements beginning to 1990s in the field of technologies, more particularly on interactive

media and internet, brought about an ` information revolution` which can be seen to result in
changing teaching model. Traditional learning methods has been using for a long time in our
education system. However traditional model has been replaced by online learning model because
of the innovations of this era`s. Traditional model of teaching and learning occurs in a group at the
same time and same place in the classroom (Sellinger, 1998). According to (Tandy & Meacham,
2009) `This type of learning allows students to complete their coursework from the comforts of their
own home or office, and it increases the options for students who are unable to attend a physical
campus to obtain an education` (Cited in Williams, 2017). These kind of changes lead to some
advantages and disadvantages.

This essay argues the contemporary benefits, challenges and disadvantages of online learning.
Besides, it will be criticized the implications of online learning.
