Volunteerism
Part 1
The reading I have chosen is a research paper from last year in high school. My writing
was about volunteering. I chose this topic because as a senior, it was a requirement in order to
graduate, to do 15 hours of community service so I decided to do volunteering at an after school
program. I decided to do my research paper in volunteering too. My main points were the
background of volunteerism, what makes people volunteer and the benefits of being a volunteer.
As a writer the I faced the challenge of not having to use I, in my research paper. When
writing my paper, my teacher was telling us that she was the audience, and we had to inform her
about our research and we would have to be able to convince her to believe us on what we are
saying. From my research paper I learned that the components of what makes a research paper.
Like using MLA format, certain amounts of credible sources and analyze different articles. This
has impacted me in the style of writing in college and has made it a bit easier for me to follow
the concepts of it. At this point the articles that I have read in class have also help develop in my
writing skills.

Part 2
The interested major is spanish. The reasons are because there are many advantages like
already knowing how to read, speak, write and comprehend the language. But it is mostly to be
able to identify the proper words and phrases that need to be use in order to communicate
properly.
According to the disciplinary writing Writing and searching in the Arts and Humanities
of the interested field, is that there are more exploration of ideas and arguments. Arts and
humanities scholars use reading, writing, and researching to explore questions about the meaning
and value of human experiences and artistic creations.
When someone gives opinions, agreements or ideas the voice is always valued.
Something important also is that in the reading its said that when there is an arguments, there
are different ways to make them. Because the theories and arguments 139 expressed by arts and
humanities scholars are often personal and subjective, a personal voice and engaging style is
often valued in arts and humanities writing. Trying to argue something without making the
peers, audience or readers feel offended or acting up, there are always ways that it can be made.
In the reading , exigence can be the different explanations of writings that are in this field. The
context can be an informative text and lastly the audience is the college students.
This article gives ideas to the students of what is able for them to use in order to make a
writing assignment in the Arts and Humanities class. As you look at the following
assignments, think about what each assignment can tell you about the purposes, audiences,
formats, styles, and research methods of writing in the arts and humanities. With this said a
paper can be easier to be written down.

Part 3
The writing was chosen to be used as a good paper because it has analysis and the writer
experienced physically what to topic is about. In the writing Writing and searching in the Arts
and Humanities, By getting this major the possible jobs that can be possible for the future are
Spanish teacher, translator or tutor.
This paper can be a good paper to turn into an instructor who specializes on my field that
I have chosen to major which is in spanish because this is involves communications. The
research paper talks about the interactions of humans with others, which means that from the
reading it is said that scholars use reading, writing, and researching to explore questions about
the meaning and value of human experiences and artistic creations (writing and searching 1).
The reading Arts and humanities, says that in this field the communication takes a big role and
compared to my research paper this is something that both have in common. Communication
described in the research paper is how interaction with people is something important to make a
difference.
From this principles, what can be useful for future writing situations is that meaning of
researching, it just doesnt have to be in only one class but it can be any. The ability of knowing
what it is asked to do can make the work easier.
