Event Feedback

The lesson that we learned from this event are we should be more sensitive toward hygienic
issue that our lecturer points out from our activity. We should have prepared our own plastic
glove earlier as we already knew that we will be dealing with food preparation and packing for
the feeding activity. Besides that, we also learn that we can try to collaborate with more party
such as NGO which involve in such similar community service to be able to conduct the activity
more holistically instead of 6 of us with 2 or 3 people from the organizing party. We also
learned the importance of project management through this activity where everything
consideration such as budget, costing and timeline is involved.

Throughout the whole activity, we were emotionally impacted with the presence of a family
with children. We indirectly send a positive message to the homeless that they are not forgotten
by the community. The faith of humanity is restored in their mind. The challenges that we faced
in the activity are our very first experience of doing such community service in our life. We
were not familiar with the activity although we already planned the project timeline for activity.
Fortunately, the organizer, Patrick was able help us in coordinating our entire activity for whole
event. Finally,we can conclude that the whole activity that we planned out are successful. We
able to achieve our objective by conducting the feeding activity at Grace Assembly Community
Service Centre.

Expectation vs Reality
The expectation that we have for that day during the community service that we need to help
in preparation from the beginning to the end of the food preparation. Instead, there was about
120+ pack of nasi lemak ayam donated by a certain party on day. Therefore, our expected food
preparation was simplified for that day. The remaining task such as cutting the bakery, packing
it and fruit cutting are done by us.

Besides that, since this is will be our very community service that we will do , we expected to
see a lot of homeless adult. However, surprisingly, there were homeless family with children
coming to our feeding station on that day. This even sadden us that the children supposed to
enjoy their childhood with basic privilege such as food and education not walking around the
street.
Finally, according to our planned timeline, we expected to end the whole feeding activity by
approximately 7pm. However, thanks to the coordination of the organizer,Patrick ,we managed
to get it done by 1 hour earlier.
