ABOUT XIME
XIME was founded in 1991 by a visionary group of leaders, illustrious academicians, professionals and public spirited men
and women, led by Prof. J. Philip, former Director of IIM Bangalore and former Dean of XLRI Jamshedpur. Built on the
foundation of Industry-Academia partnership, XIME is embedded on the principles of integrity, hard work, value-based
education and holistic development of students to ensure highest standards of professional excellence.

The first campus of XIME was established in Bangalore over 25 years ago. The present campus of XIME Bangalore has 1.65
lakh sq ft built up area in Electronics City, Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India. The second campus was established at
Kochi in 2013 with a built up area of 1.1 lakh sq ft. The third campus of XIME has come up in Chennai with a built up area
of 90000 sq ft and is located at Oragadam, the automotive hub of Tamil Nadu, on the Vandalur-Walajabad Highway,
adjacent to the Royal Enfield Factory. The Chennai campus admitted its first batch of PGDM students on June 25th 2017.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Cases are an efficient and non-biased way of bringing current management practices into the learning center. The purpose
of this programme is to introduce the case method to corporate trainers and faculty members who are new to the case
method and to provide an opportunity to those with some experience of case teaching to share their views and strengthen
their understanding. Faculty members of educational institutes, corporate trainers, adopting the case method of teaching
in company in-house programmes will immensely benefit from this programme.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
To introduce the case method of teaching
To inculcate the benefits of using case method of teaching
To learn from each others experience of using case method of teaching

ELIGIBILITY
Faculty of Undergraduate & Graduate Programs of Management Degrees; and Corporate Trainers.

PROGRAM OUTCOME:
Participants will successfully be able to understand & apply the case method of teaching in their profession. The workshop
will help the participants in selecting the right case study based on the subject they are teaching.

PROGRAMME COORDINATOR
Prof A. Anantharaman, Provost, XIME GROUP, Bangalore. He is a Professor of Strategy,
Innovation and General Management, who has taught at the Harvard Business School and the
Lubin School of Business in the USA. He is a visiting faculty at INSEAD, Paris & ISB, Hyderabad.
and at several other prestigious international schools of Business in Europe and Asia. He is a
graduate in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA and AMP (Advanced Management Program) of the
Harvard Business School and a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
He has also served as a UNIDO Expert and an Advisor to several West African Governments on
Industrial Policy. He started his career with the Unilever group in India and has subsequently
served in several senior positions as CEO with Multinational corporations in Asia, Africa and the
USA. He has taught and is also currently teaching Corporate Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Leadership Styles,
Mergers - Acquisitions and Restructuring, and Management Control Systems. He has served in the Board of several
corporations in India, Europe and the USA and has advised corporations on Strategy, Succession Planning, Business
Reengineering and several other specific General Management areas.

He has also guided the research of several Doctoral and Postdoctoral students on Turnaround Strategies, Inclusive Growth,
Shared Value, Microfinance, and Strategies for companies in Developing Nations and Business-Government-Society
Interface Models. He has also conducted Workshops on Case Study Method of Teaching at several Business schools in
India and abroad.
