Lick 9 (Martino Style)

MARTIN SAYS:
I transcribed (educated term for stealing ;) ) this particular lick from the famous Bebop
player Pat Martino, who is known for his relentless, yet sophisticated streams of 16ths notes.
Try to keep the picking hand locked in with the pulse of the music as closely as you can.
Notes 1 and 3 of each 16th-note subdivision will be played with a down stroke, notes 2 and
4 with an upstroke. Regardless of whether theres a sixteenth note rest, it is recommended
you keep this pendulum motion going, much like when doing regular chord strumming
patterns.

A thing that sticks out for me here is how amazingly that descending Amin7 arpeggio works
against the Fmaj7 chord. Be sure to check out what intervals it contains against the Fmaj7
harmony.
