1. Students are shown an image of a mosquito (PICTURE 1).
2. Students list mosquito-borne diseases they are familiar with and present it using
a Circle Map (WORKSHEET 1).
STEP 2
ACTIVITIES 1. Students view PICTURE 1 and look at various words relating to Zika virus.
2. Students write down the words they can remember within 3 minutes.
3. Students view PICTURE 1 again to check the number of correct answers.
STEP 3
1. Students read TEXT 1 and answer the questions in WORKSHEET 2- Skim & Scan*.
2. In groups, students discuss answers for WORKSHEET 2.
