PROBLEM STATEMENT

The purpose of the study was to examine the factor that contributes the poor classroom
facilities and physical environment at UTHM. Classroom management is a critical part of
effective and successful instruction. Effective classroom management, which initiates with well-
organized and efficient lesson planning preparation. Students perform well in an optimistic
classroom atmosphere and an environment in which they feel secure, safe, cared for and
involved. From a student point of view, effective and successful classroom management provides
students with opportunities to socialize while learning interesting content. Classroom facilities
should be provided as they are helpful in improving the overall performance of the universities.
Classroom facilities is a combination of different thing like lighting, temperature, ventilation
system, size of the room , floor, wall, desks, rugs, whiteboards, computers, projectors, Wi-Fi and
others. Unfortunately, facilities and physical environment in our classroom is not conducive for
smooth teaching learning process resulting fatigue and frustration among the students and
universities building are designed to attract people from outside but they failed to provide a safe
and comfortable internal atmosphere for students.

OBJECTIVE

1. To examine the factors that contributes the poor classroom facilities at UTHM.
2. To suggest valuable recommendations for the enhancement of students in academic
achievement.
3. To examine which building or block that is suitable to have a good classroom or a better
classroom.
4. To suggest how to improve the facilities of the classroom.
