I am writing in response to the Exercise Physiologist position at your Cardiac Rehabilitation

Center. I came about this job opportunity from a fellow colleague whom is currently employed at
your facility. Also I happen to come across a post in Linked In stating that your Cardiac
Rehabilitation center is in need of an educated, well-experienced individual with kinesiology
background. I believe I have the qualities and experience that is required for this position and
feel that I will be a good addition to your team.

My experience interning in a Cardiac Rehabilitation Center followed by a combination of

kinesiology and exercise science courses, gave me the opportunity to receive a Bachelor of
Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from William Paterson
University located in Wayne, New Jersey. Throughout my education, I obtained the skill of
prescribing an exercise prescription, which will be suited for every individual based on their
health and exercise performance. I am knowledgeable in nutritional guidelines in supplements
and basic pharmacology. I can perform a stress test in which I am familiar with the placement of
the leads, knowledge of different test protocols, interpretation of an ECG and know how to
monitor all vital signs. I am proficient in measuring resting and exercise blood pressures. I am
also very familiar with measuring body composition via skinfolds, hydrostatic weighing,
circumferences, and BIA. I am sure, with your approval and supervision, I can put to use these
obtained skills at your Cardiac Rehabilitation facility.

Interning at a Cardiac Rehabilitation Center in Mountainside Hospital, in Montclair, NJ, allowed

me to work with individuals from different ages. I became familiarized with various medical
procedures and extended my knowledge in interpreting an ECG. I gained the ability to use and
take an ECG strip as well as teach/lead a class through their warm-ups and cool downs. I have
experience working with and monitoring patients in phase 1 all the way to phase four. I
witnessed the patients progression from day one to the day of graduation. Again these skills,
along with my kinesiology and exercise science education background, will fulfill the required
needs that are asked of for this position.
