drawing before.
Students have completed DCG topics of
Orthographic Projection, Oblique and
Tangential Planes and Dihedral Angles.

THE AIMS OF THIS SCHEME ARE TO:

Create a positive working environment.
Stimulate each pupils creativity with practical activities.
Define the topical terms associated with Perspective and Axonometric (Ground Line,
Horizon Line, Measuring Post, Axonometric Planes etc.).
Improve the students communication skills through graphical representation.
Explain the purposes of both vanishing points and auxiliary vanishing points.
Expand the pupils knowledge of the axonometric plane.
Develop the students knowledge of curved elements in axonometric projection.
Emphasise the importance of keeping drawings neat.
Improve the students ability of labelling drawings correctly.
Identify the various levels within the class and plan accordingly.
Provide students with real world problems associated with DCG.

LEARNING OUTCOMES - Students will be able to:

Demonstrate a knowledge of elements such as the picture plane, vanishing points,
horizon lines etc.
Discuss the process of drawing a perspective technical drawing of an object.
Construct a neat, annotated perspective drawing.
Explain the purpose of auxiliary vanishing points.
Identify the need for a measuring post in certain perspective drawings.
Solve past leaving certificate questions on perspective, within a given time frame.
Appreciate the use of DCG in the real world.
Determine the axonometric projections of solids, including the sphere, using the axes
method.
Demonstrate a knowledge of the principles involved in the isometric scale.
Project a 2D view of an object from its axonometric view on to one of the principal
planes of reference.
Communicate across their ideas in a graphical fashion.
