With the dawn of 21st Century, New horizons
have been emerging in the field of education.
Introduction of various innovative designs, ICT tools and
new teaching methodology have paved the way for
ravamping the whole scenario. The effloresence breathes
with immense possibilities.
Distance Education is one of the major emerging
areas in the realm of education. It has revolutioned the
system for dissemination of knowledge. The purpose of
distance education is to make education available to all those who are aspiring
for specialization or attainment of skills in various disciplines.
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed University under Ministry of
Human Resource Development, Govt. of India) is a premier institution in the
field of higher learning in Sanskrit. The University has been recognized by the
Distance Education Bureau (DEB) of India to run distance education
programme for various traditional and new courses. The Mukta Swadhyaya
Peetham (Institute of Distance Education) established for the purpose of
running this programme under Sansthan has taken initiatives in right direction
to launch various courses in distance education mode. I am confident that this
will attract large number of citizens and knowledge seekers from various strata
of society and will also help in re-organizing the traditional system of Sanskrit
education.
Direct contact with the teacher has been sine qua none in gurukul
paddhati. In the distance mode, this contact is made possible through new
devices for communication. The very name given to the distance education
institute by the Sansthan i.e. Mukta Swadhyaya Peetham not only underlines
the policy of opening the gates of shastric Sanskrit education for all, it also
brings out the endeavours and initiatives to be taken for bridging the gaps and
filling lacunae. The Institute is committed to maintain high standards and
excellence. Sanskrit is being meticulously developed as a medium of
instruction in the self learning materials prepared by the MSP. I am happy to
know that in the first year itself we got encouraging responce from public. I
strongly believe that with the six year's experience the MSP will approach the

 Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan under Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India was established in 1970.
Considering Sansthan's contribution in the field of promotion and propagation of traditional Sanskrit
education, by various means, the Govt. of India accorded it the status of Deemed University w.e.f. 7th
May, 2002 vide Notification No. F.9-28/2000-U.3 dated 1-1-2009 & 30-6-2009 followed by U.G.C's
Notification No.F.6-31/2001(CP-I) dated 13th June, 2002. Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan has got accredited
by NAAC with 'A' Grade.
The Sansthan has had the unique fortune of having a succession of eminent Presidents and Vice-
Chancellors to guide its destiny. As a biggest Multi Campus Deemed University for Sanskrit, Rashtriya
Sankrit Sansthan has been witnessing spectacular growth in all spheres of activities with the efforts of
renowned academicians and able administrators. Under their leadership the Sansthan is witnessing a
spectacular growth in all spheres of activities.

Mukta Swadhyaya Peetham (MSP)

Mukta Swadhyaya Peetham, recognized by the Distance Education Bureau is Distance
Education Institute of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan. The study centres in campuses of Rashtriya Sanskrit
Sansthan are called Swadhyaya Kendra.
The MSP launched distance mode for various traditional programmes. All the programmes

PRAK-SHASTRI ENTRANCE TEST

Test Fee - Rs. 500/- Date of Entrance Test : 20-08-2017

Time of the Test - 11.00 A.M. to 2.00 P.M.

Venue - Any Swadhyaya Kendra where the candidate opt for appearing the test.
(Online Application form should be filled up by the candidate who wants to appear for the Prak-Shastri
Entrance Test. Candidate should mention the name of Swadhyaya Kendra where the candidate wants to appear
for the test.Afee of Rs. 500/- should be deposited through online process ..
(I) Online application Form for Prak-Shastri Entrance test is available in the website of
Mukta Swadhyayapeetham (www.msp.rsks.in or www.sanskrit.nic.in/msp.htm)
(ii) Prak-Shastri Entrance Test will be conducted for general Sanskrit of 10th slandered.
(iii) Those who have applied for Prak-Shastri Entrance Test should come to the venue of the
examination alongwith any Identity Proof 15 Minutes before the commencement of the test.
Mukta Swadhyayapeetham will send Hall Ticket separately.

Who should write the Entrance Test?
(I) Students who have passed 10th or equivalent examination without Sanskrit, but obtained the
ability to read, write & understand Sanskrit & have the knowledge of Sanskrit of 10th level (by
self study, gurukul study etc.) and want to get admission into Prak-Shastri Programme.
(ii) Those who have not studied Sanskrit in their matriculation (10th/equivalent) may also apply for

Time of the Test - 11.00 A.M. to 2.00 P.M.

Venue - Any Swadhyaya Kendra where the candidate opt for appearing the test.
(Online Application form should be filled up by the candidate who wants to appear for the Shastri Entrance
Test. Candidate should mention the name of Swadhyaya Kendra where the candidate wants to appear for the
test.Afee of Rs. 500/- should be deposited through online process .

(i) Students who have passed 12th or equivalent examination without Sanskrit, but obtained the

Acharya Programme will be conducted in 3 Shastras i.e. Navya Vyakarana, Sahitya
& Phalita Jyotisha Seperately. [The M.S.P. is planning to launch Acharya
Programmes in other Shastras also in future].
RULES TO SELECT THE SUBJECT
1. Those who want to join the Acharya programme may select either Vyakarana Sastra or
Sahitya Sastra or Phalita Jyotisha Shastra for the specialization.
2. Those who passed B.A. or equivalent examination of any university with Sanskrit for 200 marks are all
allowed to opt Sahitya only at Acharya level.
3. Those who passed Vedalankara or Vidyalankara are eligible to opt Sahitya only.
4. Those who have completed one Acharya in a particular Shastra and now want admission into another
Acharya opting another Shastra also have to pass the concerned Acharya Entrance Test or have to
complete1 yearAcharya Bridge programme successfully.
5. For admission to Acharya programme a student shall be expected to have the knowledge level on the
selected Shastra ment at Shastri level.

Course Description
There will be five papers in each year in Acharya programme. Among the five papers four papers
will be of the Shastra opted by the student. The fifth paper in Acharya 1st year will be vedic

Venue - Any Swadhyaya Kendra where the candidate opt for appearing the test.
(Online Application form should be filled up by the candidate who wants to appear for the Acharya Entrance
Test. Candidate should mention the name of Swadhyaya Kendra where the candidate wants to appear for the

Who should write the Entrance Test?
(I) Students who have passed Graduation or equivalent examination without Sanskrit, but obtained
the ability to read, write & understand Sanskrit & have the knowledge of Sanskrit of Shastri
level (by self study, gurukul study etc.) and want to get admission into Acharya Programme.
(ii) Those who want admission in Acharya Specialization, opting a Sastra other than they have
studied at their U.G. level.
(iii) Those who have completed one Acharya in a particular Sastra and now want admission

Nature of Entrance Test
Test paper will have the question for 200 Marks. Questions should be answered in Sanskrit

 INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEM AND STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICE
The following facilities/supports are provided to its distance learners.

(i) Self-Instructional Print Material.

(ii) Audio-Vidio C.Ds/D.V.Ds (wherever applicable)

(iii) Face to face Counselling cum contact classes at Svadhyaya Kendras by

Academic Counsellors.

(iv) Assignments.

(v) Library facility.

(i) Printed Self Learning Material. (S.L.M.)

Our S.L.M. is prepared by teams of experts distinguished scholars keeping in view the
interest of the Sanskrit learner group. The S.L.M. is written in Sanskrit Medium in such a
manner that students can study it by themselves with a little assistence from
our counsellors in Counselling cum Contact classes at the Svadhyaya Kendras. These materials
will be provided to the students after the admission (in the first month & at the time of Contact
classes).

Regarding all the modern subjects (either optional/ compulsory) and modern
languages which are the part of the syllabus of Prak Shastri & Shastri Programmes, M.S.P.
will provide S.L.Ms propared by IGNOU/N.O.S. For S.L.M. of Modern subjects
(except languages) candidates have to opt either Hindi medium or English medium.
Condidates should mention it by writing in the application form infront of item No. 12.

(ii) Audio Video Material

For some programmes, we provide Audio Visual (CD/DVDs) S.L.M. along with
printed self learning material.

(iii) Assignments

Assignments constitute the continious evaluation. The 30% of the marks obtained
through the assignments will be counted in final results.

(iv) Counselling-cum-Contact Programme :
Face to face contact between learners and Academic/Counsellors will be provided
by arranging Counselling-Cum contact Classes at respective Swadhyaya Kendras.
Counseling and Contact Programmes for learners will be arranged as mentioned in
the programme description provided in the Prospectus. Among those contact classes, the
first contact class of 15 days will be devoted to the activities like describing the style &
nature of Self Learning Materials (S.L.M.), Counceling, issue of identity cards,
building up the ability to understand the S.L.M. written in Sanskrit medium.
Considering all the above mentioned matters and keeping their own interest in mind all
the candidates are advised to attend the first contact class (all the days) without fail.
During the other contact classes Students need to attend atleast 50% of the Contact
programme.At the end of the Contact programme, there will be a test.
The students are advised to utilize the contact class facility in full to enhance their
understanding level, clarification of doubts etc. The students must produce their identity
cards to attend the Contact Programme. They must come fully prepared along with the
lessons already supplied to get their doubts cleared, if any.
No Hostel/Boarding arrangements will be made by the Swadhyaya Kendras.
Candidates have to make their own arrangements.

(v) Library
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan has very rich libraries in its twelve Campuses and at the
head quarter office. All the students of Mukta Swadhyaya Peetham can utilize these libraries
located at the H.Q./Campuses of Sansthan where the Swadhyaya Kendras are situated.

programme guide which will be provided alongwith S.L.M. after the admission.
